The Milton Berle Room heard the sounds of past Friars, Louis Armstrong, Louis Jordan, and Louis Prima last night as Danny Bacher brought his show Swing That Music to the club. BroadwayWorld was there for the fun. The club has been home to many of the music world's past legends and Danny Bacher's music added to that storied tradition. Joining Danny for the evenings music and comedy were comedian Marla Schultz and jazz vocalist Alexis Cole along with Danny's 7 piece band.

The Friars Club became spooky today as the Monks (Friars wait staff) served Little Friars, their parents and grandparents many treats. Most kids will not get bagels & lox, blintzes, hamburgers, french fries, and ice cream when they go out trick or treating but these lucky youngsters did in clubs The Frank Sinatra Dining Magician John Pizza then entertained everyone with his tricks in the Milton Berle Room. The music was rooted in American popular culture, but performed with a style that now seems timeless. When "Tom Dooley" went Gold in 1958, the folk revival was born, setting the stage for Bob Dylan, Joan Baez, Peter Paul & Mary, The Byrds and the protest movement of the 60s.

Born in New York City, he began his theatrical career shortly after graduating from Northwestern University in 1976. After spending two years in Chicago working with different local theatre companies, he returned to his home town of New York City with a solo play called Hollywood Confidential, which he performed as a weekend late show at Charles Ludlam's Ridiculous Theatrical Company's theatre at One Sheridan Square.
