Through the generosity of Jackie Autry, the McCallum Theatre welcomes the return of The Beach Boys for two performances on Sunday, March 4, at 3:00pm and 7:00pm. You can capsulize most pop music acts by reciting how many hits they've had and how many millions of albums they've sold. But these conventional measurements fall short when you're assessing the impact of The Beach Boys. To be sure, this band has birthed a torrent of hit singles and sold albums by the tens of millions.  But its greater significance lies in the fact that it changed the musical landscape so profoundly that every pop act since has been in its debt.

Revolutionary music may seem hard to come by in these days and times. Long gone is the era of artists like Bob Marley, The Clash, Stevie Wonder and Patti Smith getting airplay and bringing their messages to the masses. But that doesn't mean that the revolution isn't still brewing in the hearts and minds of many people around the globe.

Concertmaster Madeline Adkins will lead the Utah Symphony and perform as soloist as part of the Deer Valley Music Festival's Chamber Concert series at St. Mary's Church in Park City. This program features three early symphonies with some of the most iconic symphonic literature ever written, including selections from "Ancient Airs and Dances: Suite III" by Respighi, "Symphony No. 29" by Mozart, and "The Four Seasons" by Vivaldi.
