Comedian, actor, writer and storyteller Desiree Burch is joining New York's hottest jazz musicians and tap dancers for the world premiere of This Joint is Jumpin', a red-hot 1920's Harlem rent party celebration of jazz icon Fats Waller's life and music, at The Other Palace Studio from 4 - 15 April.

Michael Mwenso strikes out on his own with a new musical revue. This premiere performance will feature Mwenso's new compositions that chronicle working through the struggle of being different to discovering the redemptive power of love, community, and inner strength at Greenwich House Music School.

The reception, at the Foundation's American Tap Dance Center, 154 Christopher St., NYC, will kick off a weekend of discussions, films, master classes, jams and concert performance in honor of the publication of this milestone collection.

Stretching boundaries with new tap dance technique and choreography, the American Tap Dance Foundation returns with Rhythm in Motion, their yearly showcase of top tappers and contemporary tap dance, April 22 through April 26 at The Theater at the 14th Street Y, NYC. Two programs highlighting the rich diversity of contemporary tap dance will be shown (choreographers and presentation dates below). See promo video here.

Flutronix's Nathalie Joachim is one of the composers for the April 8 performance by Ulysses Owens Jr as well as flutist in the ensemble accompanying him.

Following the success of the previous two festivals, the 3rd Annual New York Hot Jazz Festival -- produced by the impresario Michael 'Misha' Katsobashvili, performer Bria Skonberg, and composer/producer Patrick Soluri (of Prohibition Productions and The Salon) -- returns to The Players this year and promises some of the biggest stars of the Hot Jazz and swing scenes in a summit of uptown and downtown talent spanning three generations.
