Jeff Macauley to Bring 'HOLLYWOOD PARTY' to Pangea This Month

It's a Hollywood Party, not a Halloween Party. But, ya know, I can't think of a better place to preview that crazy costume! Pangea's lovely supper club will present Jeff Macauley in 'Hollywood Party, Movie Songs: 1928-1936' on Monday, October 30th at 7pm.

MAC Award-Nominee Jeff Macauley to Throw a HOLLYWOOD PARTY Cabaret Show at Pangea, 10/30 at 7 pm

Over the past five years, Jeff Macauley has arguably been one of the most prolific performers on the New York Cabaret scene, garnering rave reviews and award nominations for shows paying tribute to legendary composers such as Norman Gimbel, Henry Mancini, and Michel Legrand. Now Macauley is thrilled to be reviving another highly praised show that he first performed more than 20 years ago--a celebration of the Golden Age of music in films called Hollywood Party-Movie Songs 1928-1936. The three-date run-with Macauley's long-time Musical Director Tex Arnold at piano-launches at Pangea, Downtown's Alternative Supper-Club, on October 30 at 7 pm (other dates are November 30 and December 15, also at 7 pm).

FRIDAY 5 (+1): Cumberland County Playhouse's THE DROWSY CHAPERONE

Who better than Cumberland County Playhouse's artistic director Britt Hancock to take the helm of The Drowsy Chaperone, the latest show slated to open on the mainstage of Crossville's iconic theater? After all, he starred as Broadway producer Feldzieg in the national touring company of the Tony Award-winning show, tap dancing his way across the country and winning hearts and rave reviews all along the way.

BWW Interview: Melissa Errico Talks Singing Sondheim at Feinstein's/54 Below and the Composer's Warmth/Ruthlessness

Melissa Errico is no stranger to Stephen Sondheim. She played Dot/Marie at The Kennedy Center in the first revival of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, Clara in PASSION in 2013 Off-Broadway, and, most recently, Leona in New York City Center's production of DO I HEAR A WALTZ?. Three shows and many performances later, Errico has become a major interpreter of the composer's work, daring but reverent, and hyper-focused on all of the minutiae and layers found per page of just one song. On June 3, she will bring her MELISSA ERRICO SINGS STEPHEN SONDHEIM to Feinstein's/54 Below for its New York debut, following raves from its original incarnation in Washington, D.C. In between rehearsals prior to the show, we discussed her subliminal start on Sondheim, the composer's 'warmth [and] ruthlessness,' and how his work may or may not be a religion.

MWAH! The Dinah Shore Show in Provincetown this Saturday

'MWAH!' is an affectionate and humorous look at the life and career of Dinah Shore as seen through the eyes of one of her most ardent fans, someone who sat transfixed in front of his TV during the 1970s watching the 'Dinah!' show almost daily.
