Abingdon Theatre Company continues its Master Class Series with THE STORY WORKSHOP, a three-day intensive workshop with award-winning writer and actor James Lecesne, whose work includes the Off-Broadway hits The Absolute Brightness of Leonard Pelkey and Word of Mouth. Ford's Theatre Director Paul R. Tetreault today announced the Ford's Theatre 2016-2017 season will begin with the new musical Come From Away directed by Christopher Ashley. Productions include Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? directed by Aaron Posner and featuring Holly Twyford as Martha; the musical Ragtime, directed by Peter Flynn and featuring an all-local cast including Kevin McAllister, Tracy Lynn Olivera and Nova Y. Payton; and the 35th-annual production of Washington's holiday favorite, A Christmas Carol. Political comedian Mark Russell will return for a one-night-only performance during the height of election season.
Roundabout Theatre Company has confirmed the lineup for its fifth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series this morning, a five-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written and directed by emerging artists, as well as curtain speeches by Roundabout Underground artist alumni and post-show receptions. The Reading Series will feature new works by Ben Steinfeld, Alexander Gemignani, Jireh Breon Holder, Sylvia Khoury, Martin Zimmerman and Jessica Moss.

The Signature Theatre productions of Arthur Miller's Incident at Vichy, directed by Michael Wilson, and Naomi Wallace's Night is a Room, directed by Bill Rauch, will both play their final performances this Sunday, December 20 at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). The twice-extended Incident at Vichy was named to Time Magazine's Top 10 Plays/Musicals of the Year, while Night is a Room, also extended, was called an "audacious jaw-dropper" by The New York Times.

Michael Menendian, Producing Artistic Director of Raven Theatre, has announced casting for A Loss of Roses, the infrequently produced drama by William Inge that premiered on Broadway in 1959 and launched the career of a young Warren Beatty. Raven's production will be the play's first professional staging in the Chicago area since early 1999. The Raven production will run on the company's West Stage from February 17 to April 2, 2016 under the direction of Raven Associate Artistic Director Cody Estle.
Michael Menendian, Producing Artistic Director of Raven Theatre, has announced casting for The Old Friends by Horton Foote. Raven's production will be the play's second since its World Premiere staging in fall 2013 by New York's Signature Theatre Company. That production was subsequently remounted in 2014 at the Alley Theatre in Houston, Texas. The Raven production will run on the company's East Stage from January 27 to March 26, 2016 under Menendian's direction.
BroadwayWorld has just learned that GREY GARDENS has replaced TITANIC in the 2016 line-up at LA's Ahmanson Theatre. The production will be led by Rachel York and Betty Buckley, who both starred in a production at Bay Street Theatre earlier this year.

The Alley Theatre's A Christmas Carol - A Ghost Story of Christmas features a cast of 22 talented young actors from the Houston area who will perform the show in the newly renovated Hubbard Theatre. Many of the young cast members are continuing a family tradition of appearing in the production, and other young cast members are joining the show for the first time.
