Michael Urie (Lortel nominee Outstanding Lead Actor) and Jon Marans (star and author of The Temperamentals- Lortel nominee Outstanding Play) will participate at the 'New Directions for Gay Theater' seminar at The Snapple Theater Center's Jerry Orbach Theater, 210 West 50th Street (at Broadway) on Sunday, April 11.

Nominations in 14 categories and 2 special awards were announced today by the Off-Broadway League for the 2010 Lucille Lortel Awards recognizing outstanding achievement Off-Broadway. This year's ceremony will benefit The Actors Fund.

Kathy Najimy and Donna Murphy will guest on the March 24 episode of 'Ugly Betty' entitled 'Million Dollar Smile'

Broadway's Kathy Najimy will join the cast of ABC's 'Ugly Betty' for a guest starring role as Betty's orthodontist in an upcoming episode, TVGuide.com is reporting. Najimy will be looking to remove the title character's braces, in addition to playing a role in Betty's dreams as a guardian angel. The episode is set to air March 24th.

The Off Broadway Alliance, the organization of Off Broadway producers, general managers, venue owners, press agents and marketing personnel, will hold the second in a series of seminars focused on the culture, business and history of Off Broadway theater.

"TalkOut Mondays" (after performance) continues March 15th with Bill C Davis (playwright), Tim Viola (activist, BC/EFA) and Broadway Impact co-founders: Gavin Creel (star of "Hair"), Rory O'Malley & Jenny Kanelos at the critically acclaimed hit show "The Temperamentals" by Jon Marans at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street). Daryl Roth, Stacy Shane and Martian Entertainment are presenting the new American play. Thomas Jay Ryan (recently on Broadway "In The Next Room") portrays Harry Hay. Michael Urie (from TV's "Ugly Betty") is Rudi Gernreich. Arnie Burton (an original cast member of Broadway's "39 Steps") joins the cast in multiple roles. Rounding out the cast of five multiple talented actors are Matthew Schneck, and Sam Breslin Wright. The critically acclaimed hit show is directed by Jonathan Silverstein. The Set & Costume design is by Clint Ramos, lighting by Josh Bradford and Daniel Kluger is the sound designer. Vanessa Williams will soon be bidding farewell to the role of Wilhemina Slater in the hit television series 'Ugly Betty', but she is wasting no time in plunging straight into new and exciting projects, such as the new Broadway musical 'Sondheim on Sondheim' which is set to begin previews on March 19.

The 21st Annual GLAAD Media Awards were held last night, March 13, 2010 at the Marriott Marquis in New York City. The event was hosted by Tony Award winner Alan Cumming. Colman Domingo's 'A Boy and His Soul', produced by the Vineyard Theatre, won the Outstanding New York Theater: Broadway & Off-Broadway award, while 'She Likes Girls' by Chisa Hutchison took home the award in the Outstanding New York Theater: Off-Off-Broadway category. The Broadway musical HAIR received a Special Recognition Award for their support of LGBT equality.
