World Premiere Theatre Piece Hits Oklahoma With Inter-Dimensional Art Show

"The Cowboy Who Fell From The Sky" - an immersive, post-apocalyptic, pop-up folk concert - will be performed February 22nd-24th and March 1st-3rd at 8pm at Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park on Paseo (2920 Paseo …near 30th & Walker.) Additionally, Taylor Gross's inter-dimensional graphic paintings will be housed in the lobby in a series called ((('Hard Traveling' a space romp!)))

Kelli O'Hara, Jonas Kaufmann, Joyce DiDonato Will Highlight Met Opera's 2017-18 Season

The Metropolitan Opera's 2017-18 season will feature 220 performances of 26 works, including two Met premieres, one co-commissioned by the company and one an older masterpiece having its first Met performances; a variety of repertory favorites, three in new productions; and performances of Verdi's towering concert work for soloists, orchestra, and chorus, the Requiem. Of note, Broadway star Kelli O'Hara is set to return to the Met in Così fan tutte this season.

TheatreLAB Announces Extension of MR. BURNS, A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY

TheatreLAB, Richmond's home for unexpected and evocative performance, is proud to announce that Anne Washburn's imaginative dark comedy, Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play, is now extended due to popular demand. Directed by TheatreLAB Artistic Director, Deejay Gray, the production will now run through August 13th at TheatreLAB's venue, The Basement (300 East Broad Street). For extension performances, the roles of Colleen and Jenny will be played by Addie Barnhart and Liz Earnest. Added performances are on August 11th, 12th, and 13th at 8pm. TheatreLAB is also introducing a Special Second Viewing Rush Rate. Anyone who wants to see the show a second time can bring their receipt from their first viewing to get a half-priced ticket at the door.

Coheed and Cambria to Play Boulder Theater on September 21st

Coheed and Cambria will play the Boulder Theater on September 21st with special guests Saves the Day and Polyphia. Doors open at 6pm for a 7pm show.  Tickets are on sale now- $32.50 General Admission, $47.50 Gold VIP or $107.50 Platinum VIP.

TheatreLAB Announces Cast and Creative Team for MR BURNS: A POST-ELECTRIC PLAY

TheatreLAB, Richmond's home for unexpected and evocative performance, is proud to present Anne Washburn's imaginative dark comedy, Mr. Burns: A Post-Electric Play, as the final show of their critically acclaimed season, A Vivid Impression of Reality. Directed by TheatreLAB Artistic Director, Deejay Gray, the production will run July 15th to August 5th at TheatreLAB's venue, The Basement.

The Dallas Opera Presents MANON, 3/4

 The Dallas Opera resumes the 2015-2016 Season in early spring with Jules Massenet's heart-wrenching and seductive tale of love, lust, and spectacularly bad choices: MANON, opening March 4, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. in the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House for the first of four performances.

TheatreLAB to Present BAD JEWS, 2/18-3/5

TheatreLAB is thrilled to present Bad Jews by Joshua Harmon as part of the 2016 Acts of Faith Festival. Directed by Debra Clinton and produced in association with the Weinstein JCC, the show will run from February 18th to March 5th at TheatreLAB's home, The Basement in Richmond's Arts District.

Seattle Opera receives $30,000 from National Endowment for the Arts

Seattle Opera has received a $30,000 grant from National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The funds, in support of the February, 2016 production of Donizetti's Mary Stuart, are part of a larger $27.6 million that NEA is awarding to American arts groups in 2016.

Washington National Opera (WNO) opens its 2015-2016 season with a newto-Washington staging of Georges Bizet's popular classic Carmen, September 19 to October 3 in the Kennedy Center Opera House. Starring two French mezzo-sopranos-Clémentine Margaine and Géraldine Chauvet- in the title role, this production also showcases two stars of flamenco dance, principal dancers Timo Nuñez (Fox's So You Think You Can Dance) and Fanny Ara. The production is staged by American director E. Loren Meeker and the WNO Orchestra is led by American conductor Evan Rogister. A special performance on Friday, October 2 features casting by current singers and alumni of WNO's Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program.
