For the first time at the Houston Ballet, children on the autism spectrum will be able to experience and enjoy a ballet in an environment crafted specifically for them. With a special performance of MY FIRST BALLET: COPPELIA, the Houston Ballet Academy makes its first foray into autism-friendly performances. To accommodate the children during this special performance, house lights will be kept on, audience members will be able to easily enter and exit the theater as needed, and sensory toys will be available.
In March 2013, newly-formed collective New Constellations Theatre Group will present its inaugural production of The Flu Season by Will Eno. Founding member Stephanie Haire will direct and produce this challenging exploration of the intricacies of human relationships. The production runs from March 13-21 at the LAB @ INScape.

In Charlotte, NEWSIES will play Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 1:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Tonight, the North American tour of Broadway's Tony® Award-winning smash hit musical, NEWSIES opens in Philadelphia. During its first year of touring in the 2014-15 season, the production will play 25 cities, over 43 weeks. Now according to Variety, the tour will feature a brand new song for 'Crutchie' from songwriting team Alan Menken and Jack Feldman. The duo created the song, titled 'Letter from the Refuge,' when Disney Theatrical Productions' Thomas Schumacher challenged them to add another tune as a part of the American Theater Wing series 'Working in the Theater.'
