San Diego Repertory Theatre (San Diego REP) has announced the sixth and final show of their 2017/18 season "Into the Beautiful North." This world premiere, one of the National New Play Network's rolling world premieres, was written by Karen Zacarias ("The Book Club Play," "Just Like Us") and will be directed by San Diego REP Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse. "Into the Beautiful North" begins on Thursday, March 30, 2017 and plays through Sunday, April 23, 2017 with an opening night on Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at 7 p.m. on the Lyceum Stage Theatre at San Diego REP in Horton Plaza.

Tony Award-winning actor-singer-director Paul Sand will remount his hit show, "Kurt Weill at the Cuttlefish Hotel," in July in Santa Monica - which will also launch his newly formed Santa Monica Public Theatre.

When I heard the Morgan-Wixson Theatre was presenting THE FOREIGNER by Larry Shue, I was hesitant to review the show, wondering why anyone would want to produce a show I had found offensive and not at all funny the first time I saw it elsewhere. But I am happy to report director Michael Rothhaar has mined every moment of humor in Shue's play, keeping me and the audience in stitches throughout thanks to his obvious knowledge on how to present it, as well as his excellent casting of all roles.

This special event, which benefits the Jewish Museum, will feature celebratory holiday activities for adults, and children ages 2 through tweens. The Jewish Museum is located at Fifth Avenue and 92nd Street, Manhattan.

Though the artists in Unorthodox come from a wide variety of backgrounds and generations, they are united in their spirit of independence and individuality. Through over 200 works, the exhibition will highlight the importance of iconoclasm and art's key role in breaking rules and traditions. Organized by Jens Hoffmann, Deputy Director, Exhibitions and Public Programs, Leon Levy Assistant Curator Daniel S. Palmer, and Assistant Curator Kelly Taxter, Unorthodox will be on view from November 6, 2015through March 27, 2016.

REP Co-Founder and Artistic Director Sam Woodhouse directs his second production of the season, taking on this one-of-a-kind play by REP favorite, Sarah Ruhl. The show's run will begin performances on Thursday, Nov. 12, 2015 and run through Sunday, Dec. 6, 2015 with an opening night on Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the Lyceum Stage Theatre.

Nominees for the 2015 LA STAGE Alliance Ovation Awards were announced on Thursday, September 24 on @ This Stage Magazine [ThisStage.la]. This year's Ovation Awards ceremony will take place Monday, November 9 at the Ahmanson Theatre at The Music Center. The curtain will rise at7:30pm.
