Founded by BroadwayWorld TV's own Michael Sterling (On-air Producer and Host for live entertainment news events in Los Angeles), Sterling's Upstairs first opened its doors at the renowned Vitello's Restaurant in Studio City, CA. where it single handedly brought back to Los Angeles the art of intimate upscale cabaret concerts which had all but vanished from the cultural scene in movie town, USA.  However, in due time, the venue was whole heartedly embraced by enthusiasts of LA's performing arts community and continued to thrive for 6 successful years in a former storage room that was transformed by Sterling into a true supper club environment.  

On Sunday June 28, actress/singer Candi Milo brought her one.of.a.kind comedic cabaret to Sterling's Upstairs at the Federal and boy, oh boy, is she funny. 'How funny?' you may query. This little lady grew up in a mental institution - well, her father ran one in their home, so she was exposed to craziness at a tender age...and on top of that, she's Italian...and a voice-over artist who does many, many cartoon voices to amazing perfection, starting with Sweetie Pie. She was also a member of 'The Mighty Carson Art Players' on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. What fabulous improvisational training! So it's no surprise that the lady knows how to get a laugh. Humor comes gushing out of her the minute she opens her mouth, and it's never forced. It's all natural and with a multitude of sarcastic asides, it works deliciously on a cabaret stage.

 Michael Ingersoll and Metropolis present the next season of Artists Lounge Live at Metropolis, featuring top Broadway and Broadway in Chicago stars in solo concerts.

The Broadway at Birdland series was proud to present actor/singer Erich Bergen, who made a triumphant return to the Birdland stage on Sunday and Monday, June 21 and 22. On Monday, May 18 at 8:00 PM, Martinis Above Fourth Table + Stage in San Diego is presenting TV and movie star Erich Bergen in Erich Bergen - Live! Best known for his performance as Bob Gaudio in the Clint Eastwood film of Jersey Boys (reprising the role he played on stage for over three years) and his costarring role as Blake Moran on the CBS nighttime drama Madam Secretary (recently renewed for its second season after consistently being in the Top 10 since its debut in September 2014), Erich Bergen will bring his dry wit and smooth vocals to the Martinis Above Fourth main stage with musical director Michael Orland (American Idol). The show will feature songs from Bergen's stage and screen career and songs from his two EP releases - his self-titled debut and the recent Never Give Up. The singer and actor will appear at Martinis Above Fourth for one show only on Monday, May 18 at 8:00 PM. In addition to the San Diego appearance, Chris Isaacson Presents is presenting Bergen's show at Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles on May 21 and 22.

Chris Isaacson Presents has announced Erich Bergen-Live! for two shows only at the Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood on Thursday, May 21 and Friday, May 22 at 8:30pm. Just prior to these Los Angeles shows, Bergen will be appearing on Monday, May 18 for one show only at Martinis Above Fourth in San Diego.

The Pasadena Playhouse announced their 2015-2016 Season today, which includes the award-winning REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES by Josefina Lopez; the World Premiere of the new musical BREAKING THROUGH with a book by Kirsten Guenther and Music and Lyrics by Cliff Downs and Katie Kahanovitz; the return of Panto at The Playhouse with Lythgoe Family Productions' PETER PAN AND TINKERBELL A PIRATE CHRISTMAS, Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan's FLY produced in association with Crossroads Theatre Company; the West Coast Premiere of Harvey Fierstein's CASA VALENTINA; and an Artistic Director's Choice to be announced at a later date.

For the last few years the uber talented Lythgoe family have been entertaining us at Christmastime, first at the El Portal in NoHo and now at the Pasadena Playhouse with a British style panto. A panto is an interactive entertainment that starts with a very contemporary retelling of a fairy tale such as Snow White, Cinderella, or in this case Sleeping Beauty and turns it into a fun imaginative show with music that will appeal to both children and their parents. There's usually an actor in drag (outrageous David Engel as Nanny Tickle, Aurora's nanny), a villain or villainess (Lucy Lawless as Carabosse))... and audience are encouraged to root for the heroes and HISS loudly at the villains. Lawless tries to sway and seize control over the audience by singing 'One Way or

The Pasadena Playhouse and Lythgoe Family Productions (LFP) announces Garrett Clayton (Disney's "Teen Beach Movie") as Sleeping Beauty's Prince of Alhambra in this year's Panto at the Playhouse SLEEPING BEAUTY AND HER WINTER KNIGHT. The cast also features previously announced Disney Recording Artist Olivia Holt as "Aurora" (Disney's "I Didn't Do It"), Lucy Lawless as "Carabosse" ("Xena: Warrior Princess," "Spartacus"), David Engel as "Nanny Tickle" (Broadway's "La Cage aux Folles," "Seussical"), Tamyra Gray as "The Good Fairy" ("American Idol," Broadway's "Bombay Dreams" and "Rent") and returning from last year's Panto at the Playhouse production of Aladdin and His Winter Wish, Ben Giroux as "Silly Billy" (CW's "Hart of Dixie).
