Washington Ensemble Theatre has announced its new partnership with ACT - A Contemporary Theatre. The two theatres will now work in tandem to bring the popular reading series The Construction Zone to Seattle audiences who love to witness and participate in the development of new plays.
Keen Teens, the educational theatre partnership between Off-Broadway's Keen Company and the theatrical publishing company Samuel French, has selected the writers for the program's seventh season: Jonathan Caren, Madeleine George, and Anna Moench, who have been commissioned to write thirty-minute, large cast plays, which will be produced with student actors Off-Broadway.
Dallas Theater Center announced today the complete cast and creative team for the new rock musical, Fly By Night, directed by Bill Fennelly. This often funny and sometimes deeply moving tale follows a group of New Yorkers during the 1965 blackout. Will Connolly, Michael Mitnick and Kim Rosenstock's vivid characters question the direction of their lives, try to make their dreams come true and fall in love all to the tune of fresh, catchy and original songs. Fly By Night opens with previews on Friday, April 26 and runs through Sunday, May 26 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons has announced initial details for its 2013 special online Auction in connection with its annual Spring Gala. Bidding for the auction, which will feature an eclectic array of items and unique opportunities, begins Friday March 29 at 10AM at www.biddingforgood/playwrightshorizons. Online bidding will continue through Monday, April 15 at 8PM.

Michael Zygo (Once, Rock of Ages), and will also feature emerging talent from Yale's musical theatre performance program.
Dallas Theater Center announced today that Austin-based Foe Destroyer and Denton's Max Brown will be the featured musicians in the upcoming production of Fly By Night. The three-member rock band and Max Brown will appear in this new rock-musical by Will Connolly, Michael Mitnick and Kim Rosenstock and directed by Bill Fennelly at Dallas Theater Center from April 26 through May 26.

Casting has been announced for the world-premiere of Kara Manning's play SLEEPING ROUGH, directed by Tony Award nominee Sam Buntrock and presented Off-Broadway at the Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street) by Page 73 Productions, currently celebrating its 15th season presenting works by up-and-coming playwrights in New York.
