Johanna Day, Alex Dreier, Sonya Harum & More Set for Signature's APPROPRIATE; Performances Begin 2/25 Off-Broadway

Signature Theatre has announced casting is confirmed and tickets are now on sale for the New York premiere of APPROPRIATE, by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins and directed by Liesl Tommy. All tickets for the initial run of the production are $25 as part of the Signature Ticket Initiative: A Generation of Access. The production runs February 25 through April 6, 2014 with a March 16 opening night in The Alice Griffin Jewel Box Theatre at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).

Rattlestick's F*CKING GOOD PLAYS! (FESTIVAL, IV) to Begin 12/16

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater announced the 2013 F*ck!ng Good Plays (festival, IV) -three (3) days of new play readings by four (4) of today's hottest playwrights. The festival, to be presented at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (224 Waverly Place - off 7th Avenue South between West 11th & Perry Streets) will begin on Monday the 16th, and continue on Wednesday the 18th and Thursday the 19th. Playwrights include: Denis Johnson, Basil Kreimendahl, Michael Laurence, and Jen Silverman. The readings will be directed by David Kennedy, Lisa Peterson, Francine Volpe, and Davis McCallum.

Each year, Radio Bloomsday ends its 7 hour nationwide broadcast of James Joyce's Ulysses with the book's final chapter - a two hour passion filled monologue, by the novel's heroine, Molly Bloom.

Sundance Institute just presented playwright and Sundance Institute Theatre Lab alum Branden Jacobs-Jenkins with the first-ever Tennessee Williams Award from the Institute's Theatre Program, which supports the development of new work for the stage. Sundance Institute Emeritus Trustee Sally Field presented the honor and accompanying $10,000 grant at the Celebrate Sundance Institute benefit for its Theatre Program last night at Stephan Weiss Studio in Greenwich Village. Michael Laurence's HAMLET IN BED Opens 2/3 Off-Broadway

Hamlet In Bed, the new play/event from Michael Laurence, the playwright/performer of the acclaimed Krapp, 39 (2009 Drama Desk nominee), will begin previews at the SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street, NYC) on Wednesday, January 16, 2013. It will officially open on February 3rd. Directed by OBIE-winning director Lisa Peterson (An Iliad) and featuring OBIE-winner Lisa Emery (Relatively Speaking, Marvin's Room, Abigail's Party, A Kind of Alaska), Hamlet In Bed will end its limited engagement on March 17, 2013.

(15 Vandam Street, New York City) fall 2012 season. The play will hold a six-week run at the SoHo Playhouse from October 13 to November 20, 2012.
