The Stephen and Christine Schwarzman Legacy Award for Excellence in Theater will be presented to Pulitzer Prize-winner Paula Vogel on Friday, April 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Terrace Theater during the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), April 14 - 18, 2009.

A $10,000 scholarship in her name to the student of her choice accompanies the award which enables her to continue her commitment to emerging theater practitioners

Exigent Theatre presents HENRI GABLER, a new play by Alexander Burns adapted from Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece HEDDA GABLER, to be directed by Alexander Burns. The production will start previews on Friday, March 20th at 8pm and open on Sunday March 22nd at 7pm. Performances are Friday, March 20th through Sunday, April 5th.

The Clockwork Theatre is pleased to announce the cast for their upcoming production of CHERRY SMOKE by JAMES McMANUS (winner of the 2006 Princess Grace Playwriting Award), directed by JADE KING CARROLL. The title role of Cherry will be portrayed by MARIANNA McCLELLAN, with JAY ROHLOFF playing opposite her in the role of Fish. Mr. Rohloff, who serves as Clockwork's Artistic Director, was most recently seen in the company's revival of Caryl Churchill's A Number at Theatre Row in September, 2008, for which he received praise for portraying a man and two very unique clones of that man.

The roundtable discussions following performances on January 9, 12, and 16 will include local theatre administrators, artists, and funders.

Sesame Street favorites Gordon and Elmo are coming to Montclair High School Auditorium in Montclair, NJ on Saturday November 15th at 11 A.M. for a performance to benefit Luna Stage. Stars Roscoe Orman and Elmo puppeteer Kevin Clash are again lending their support to Luna Stage, a New Jersey cultural institution.

The American Theatre Wing and XM Satellite Radio proudly present an interview with Tony-winning actress Harriet Harris, on their weekly theatrical interview show, 'Downstage Center,' on XM's On Broadway (XM Channel 28).

Patrick Page, currently starring as Shakespearean actor-manager Jefffrey Cordova in Dancing in the Dark (based on MGM's The Bandwagon) at San Diego's Old Globe Theatre, will join the cast of Michael Kahn's staging of Hamlet at the Shakespeare Theatre Company in Washington, DC this Spring. The production will play ten free performances at the Carter Barron Amphitheatre in Rock Creek Park, May 22-June 1.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey begins its 2008 Season with one of Shakespeare's most beloved comedies, The Comedy of Errors. The madcap hijinks begin on April 30 and continue through May 18. The Theatre also announced an addition to its early curtain performances.
