The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Jonathan Caren's hard-hitting drama, The Recommendation. Directed by Jonathan Munby, The Recommendation will run Jan. 21 - Feb. 26, 2012 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Jan. 21 - Jan. 25. Tanna Frederick will star in indie film director Henry Jaglom's romantic comedy 'The ‘M' Word,' which begins principal photography November 28th in Los Angeles. Corey Feldman (Lost Boys), Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) and Francis Fisher (Janie Jones) will co-star.

The Public Theater began previews on Monday, June 6 for the 2011 Shakespeare in the Park summer season featuring MEASURE FOR MEASURE, directed by David Esbjornson, and ALL'S WELL THAT ENDS WELL, directed by Daniel Sullivan. The two shows will run in repertory with the same company of actors through Saturday, July 30 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. Arena Stage at the Mead Center for American Theater will produce the first in-the-round staging of Ruined, the 2009 Pulitzer Prize winner for drama by Arena Stage Project Resident Lynn Nottage and directed by Resident Playwright Charles Randolph-Wright (Director of Arena Stage's Duke Ellington's Sophisticated Ladies). Ruined is the stirring tale of Mama Nadi, a mother figure loosely based on Bertolt Brecht's Mother Courage and Her Children, who provides refuge for women affected by civil war ravaging the Democratic Republic of Congo. The production features an expanded company with cast members playing live music and additional ensemble roles featuring University of Maryland students. Ruined runs April 22-June 5, 2011 in the Fichandler Stage.

New Theatre's (THE NEW) 25th Anniversary continues with acclaimed stage and film actress Angelica Torn starring as Marie Curie in the World Premiere of The Radiant by Tony-nominated playwright Shirley Lauro, running March 25 - April 17, 2011. The Radiant tells the story of the tempestuous, dramatic life of Marie Curie, one of the world's first recognized woman scientists, whose discovery and isolation of radium earned her two Nobel Prizes and revolutionized science forever, as she ushered in 'The Atomic Age' and the first cure for cancer. 2011 marks the 100th Anniversary of Marie Curie's second Nobel Prize win and befittingly, Poland and France have named 2011 'Marie Curie Year' and The United Nations designated it 'The International Year of Chemistry.'
