Buffalo Theatre Ensemble (BTE) concludes the season with Michael Healey's THE DRAWER BOY at the McAninch Arts Center, at College of DuPage, 425 Fawell Blvd., Glen Ellyn, Ill. July 13 - 29. THE DRAWER BOY directed by Ensemble member Kurt Naebig, features BTE Ensemble actor Robert Jordan Bailey (Angus), and guest artists Chicago's Jacob Abbas (Miles) and Indian Head Park's Jonathan Kraft (Morgan). Surprisingly funny, tender but tough, THE DRAWER BOY tells the story of two Canadian famers living in self-imposed isolation, who have their lives thrown into confusion by a young actor. The actor asks to observe their routines to prepare for a play when he unwittingly happens on a long-hidden personal story that shaped the lives of the two older men.
Tarragon Theatre announces its 11-play, 2012-2013 season of contemporary plays, including a mini-festival of new works by Hannah Moscovitch; a Tarragon writing debut from David Yee; returning artists David S. Young and Asha and Ravi Jain; and work from Melody A. Johnson, John Mighton, Michel Nadeau and Morris Panych.

Tickets for the Shaw Festival's 50th season went on sale to Shaw Festival Members and Visa Infinite cardholders on November 6 and December 4, respectively, and the response has been wonderfully strong. Compared to the same time last year, Members ticket sales are 5% ahead, with group sales reaching the $1 million mark, 15% ahead of the same time last year. Next season's productions of My Fair Lady and The Admirable Crichton are very popular with families, reflecting a remarkable 143% increase in family package sales.

Thirty-nine days prior to its annual opening date, Summerworks received news that its federal funding had been cut. The cut amounts to 20% of the festival's operating budget.
