More than 20 of cabaret's brightest stars will be honored at the 25th Annual Bistro Awards which will take place on Tuesday, April 13 at Gotham Comedy Club. Legendary singer-dancer-actress Mitzi Gaynor, star of such films as South Pacific, Les Girls, Anything Goes, and a longtime headliner in Las Vegas and the nightclub circuit, making her first NY night club appearance in years in May at Feinstein's at Loews Regency, will be honored with the Bob Harrington Lifetime Achievement Award. Elaine Stritch, the uniquely sensational actress and singer and star of stage, film, and TV, will be recognized in the category of Extraordinary Cabaret Artist, noting her recent conquests of the cabaret stage.

'When we think of nerds, we think funny and over-the-top,' suggests cabaret up-and-comer Joshua Desjardins. And, of course, he's right. But his show, 'Nerds Among Us,' which he's bringing back to Don't Tell Mama's on April 14th and 17th, is something else… something more. 'It has its comedic moments, but it's also very sincere.

The Manhattan Association of Cabarets & Clubs has announced the nominees for the 2010 24th Annual MAC Awards. The ceremony honoring the nominees, will take place on May 4, 2010 at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill, and will be hosted by Sharon McNight. Leslie Uggams will be honored for Lifetime Achievement, with Board of Directors Awards being presented to Peter Leavy and playbill.com. The event will begin at 7:30pm. Doors open at 6:00pm. Lennie Watts will direct the evening, with Tracy Stark musical directing.

Tony Award Winner Mary Louise Wilson is set to star alongside Jayne Atkinson, Richard Easton and Michael Gill in THE GUARDSMAN from July 13th through the 31st. The Berkshire Theatre Festival production will be directed by John Rando.

Full casting is set for the upcoming Arena Stage musical The Light in the Piazza, book by Craig Lucas, music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, based on the novel by Elizabeth Spencer.

Arizona Theatre Company's post-show discussion at [title of show] following the performance on Thursday, March 4 at 7:30 PM will feature the creators and original stars themselves, Jeff Bowen and Hunter Bell; and original keyboardist and musical arranger Larry Pressgrove.
