Goodspeed Musicals continues its commitment to innovative, thought-provoking works with a bold reimagining of the witty and ridiculous The Roar of the Greasepaint - The Smell of the Crowd. The tremendously talented cast of four will be Tony Sheldon playing the role of Sir, Caesar Samayoa  appearing as Cocky, Michelle Aravena  as The Kid, and Gregory Treco as The Stranger.

Stephen Schwartz, Michael Gennaro and Geoffrey Walsky will headline this week's (April 1) State of the ARTS, heard LIVE every Friday from 12noon to 1pm on WPKN-FM (89.5) in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Co-hosts of the weekly arts & entertainment show are Richard Pheneger and Peggy Nelson.

?At the 20th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Repertory Company will honor local artists Len Cabral and Charlene Carpenzano with Rhode Island Pell Awards for Excellence in the Arts alongside previously announced honorees The Public Theater artistic director Oskar Eustis, Laurie Eustis and Elizabeth Chace. The awards ceremony and celebration will be held at Ochre Court on the Salve Regina University Campus in Newport, RI on May 23, 2016. Hartford Symphony Orchestra and Goodspeed Musicals will join to celebrate 70 years of Tony Award-winning music in a blockbuster one-night-only concert event on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. at The Bushnell Center for the Performing Arts in Hartford.

At the 20th annual Pell Awards, Trinity Repertory Company will award Oskar Eustis and Laurie Eustis with the Pell Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Arts. Oskar currently serves as the artistic director of The Public Theater. Elizabeth Z. Chace, local businesswoman and philanthropist will be honored with the Charles Sullivan Award for Distinguished Service in the Arts. Nominations are now being accepted for additional local honorees. Goodspeed Musicals is holding local Equity auditions for its 2016 season, on Sunday, October 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in East Haddam, Conn. Goodspeed is seeking adult Equity male and female actors. In addition, Goodspeed seeks both Equity and non-Equity boys ages 10-13 for BYE BYE BIRDIE.

Following a national search, Trinity Repertory Company, the State Theater of Rhode Island, has named the highly accomplished Tom Parrish as Executive Director. Parrish takes over from Michael Gennaro who left in February to take a similar position at renowned Goodspeed Musicals. Parrish will begin his role full-time in Providence in late fall.
