Now that MerleFest, presented by Window World, is only one week away, annual festival-goers have surely begun planning their weekends. For those who have not, however, here are five sure-to-be epic experiences that shouldn't be missed. Make a note or two and join a welcoming legion of music fans in Wilkesboro, N.C., from April 25th to 28th at MerleFest.

From its first incarnation in 1993, MerleFest's annual Chris Austin Songwriting Competition has seen the likes of Gillian Welch, Tift Merritt, and Martha Scanlan rise to the top of an always competitive field of up-and-coming songwriters. Legendary songwriters have presided over the competition from the start as judges, too. Darrell Scott, Hayes Carll, and the late, great Guy Clark have all taken a turn at judging the CASC. This year, the event will be judged byJoey Ryan and Kenneth Pattengale, better known as The Milk Carton Kids, Cruz Contreras of The Black Lillies, and Texas-troubadour Radney Foster. Mr. Americana Jim Lauderdale will host the competition and Mark Bumgarner will return as emcee for the finalist contest taking place at MerleFest's Austin Stage on Friday, April 26th at 2:00 p.m.

The complete lineup for MerleFest 2019 will be announced over the next few months. Today's lineup announcement includes Wynonna & The Big Noise, Keb' Mo', The Earls of Leicester, Sam Bush, Tyler Childers, Peter Rowan and The Free Mexican Air Force, and many more. The 2019 Late Night Jam on Saturday, April 27th will start at 10:30 p.m. and run well past midnight, hosted by Chatham County Line. This very popular after-hours hootenanny in the Walker Center gathers many performers from the festival for impromptu artistic collaborations and one-of-a-kind superstar jams that have become legendary in the festival's history. Ticket sales for both the festival and Late Night Jam begin at 10 a.m. EST on Nov. 13th.

Indie pop band from LA, Sure Sure just released their sharp and charismatic new single “Idiot” today via Ghettoblaster Magazine. As the band explains with their trademark humor, “'Idiot' is about judging a person from afar and then realizing you are that person. It's also about embracing your dysfunctionality and ripping a guitar solo.”

Indie pop band from LA, Sure Sure has released the playful new video for their lush and charming new single “Lie Lie Lie” today. A bright track about a bad habit, the track was recently featured as KCRW “Today's Top Tune” and is already being played on KCRW Morning Becomes Eclectic and Sirius XM Alt Nation's Advanced Placement Show. The “Lie Lie Lie” video debuted with New Noise Magazine today, and is available to post/share HERE.

Magnetic genre-benders Sure Sure have released a new video for their song 'Hands Up Head Down' featuring home videos from their passionate fans, participating in the band's 'Hands Up Head Down' dance moves. Sure Sure sent a note to their 'True Friends' fan club inviting their fans to be a part of the video and the response was huge.

Seattle Theatre Group (STG) announces the following shows going on sale:       

Presented by State Auto Insurance Companies, a Lincoln Theatre Walk of Fame induction ceremony will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 7pm, to memorialize the three visionaries responsible for the historic Lincoln Theatre's rescue, renovation, and 2009 reopening-Michael B. Coleman, Bill Conner, and Larry James.

Sure Sure is an experimental pop band from Los Angeles, California. The highly collaborative group, composed of Chris Beachy (keyboardist, singer), Charlie Glick (guitarist, singer), Kevin Farzad (drums, percussion) and Michael Coleman (producer), has been releasing music since 2014.
