The Theater People Podcast Welcomes FIDDLER's Danny Burstein

On Monday, April 18, the Theater People podcast welcomes Five-time Tony Award-nominee, Danny Burstein. Burstein, currently staring as Tevye in the Broadway revival of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, began his career on Broadway in the early 1990s working mostly as an ensemble member and understudy. After making the decision to turn down work that didn't challenge him artistically, Burstein would go on to become one of the most celebrated leading men of his generation, earning Tony nominations for his work in THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, SOUTH PACIFIC, FOLLIES, GOLDEN BOY, and CABARET.

FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents The Girls in White: Songs from the Show on Friday, April 22, 2016. Set in post-depression era Texas, The Girls in White is inspired by a true story about a group of incarcerated women who form a band and become an overnight sesantion through a prison-based radio program. In their newfound fame, they dream of being pardoned and set free. A story of hope and redemption, The Girls in White is 'Chicago' meets 'Orange is the New Black' with a country twang.

Reproductive rights advocacy organization A is For is bringing together stars of stage and screen with 'Broadway Acts for Women: A Star-Studded Night of Karaoke and Comedy' on May 1, 2016 to Benefit Jane's Due Process, Mississippi Reproductive Freedom Fund; Physicians for Reproductive Health.

On April 4, 2016, Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre honored the Broadway librettist John Weidman(Assassins, Pacific Overtures, Road Show) with the company's seventh Stephen Sondheim Award. The award, established in 2009 in honor of America's most influential musical theater writer and composer, was presented at a black-tie Gala Benefit at the Embassy of Italy. The Sondheim Award Gala benefited Signature Theatre's artistic, education, and community programs. Check out photos below!

On Monday, April 4, the Theater People podcast welcomes ON YOUR FEET star Andrea Burns. Burns made her professional New York debut in Jason Robert Brown's groundbreaking 1995 musical SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD. She then made her Broadway debut in 1996 as a replacement in the role of Belle in BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and went on to co-star in the Broadway productions of THE FULL MONTY and THE RITZ.

On Monday, April 4th, the Theater People podcast welcomes Emmy nominated choreographer Spencer Liff. As a performer, Liff made his Broadway debut at age 11 in the musical BIG. He went on to appear in THE WEDDING SINGER, CRY BABY, EQUUS, and  9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL, taking on more and more responsibility along the way. He was the Associate Choreographer and Dance Captain for CRY BABY, and was the Dance Captain on EQUUS.

A new live-action/animated TV spot for Broadway's Fun Home features new drawings by graphic artist Alison Bechdel, whose memoir inspired the Tony-winning musical. The Public Theater has announced a one-week extension for the New York premiere of Head of Passes, part of Oskar Eustis' 10th anniversary season. Written byTarell Alvin McCraney and directed by Tina Landau, Head of Passes officially opened last night, Monday, March 28 and was originally scheduled to close on Sunday, April 17. The Theater People Podcast Welcomes FIDDLER ON THE ROOF's Adam Kantor

On Monday, March 28th, the Theater People podcast welcome's Broadway favorite and Fiddler on the Roof's Motel, Adam Kantor. The actor made his Broadway debut in 2008 as Mark in the closing cast of the Tony winning musical RENT directed by Michael Greif. The director, a mentor to Kantor, went on to cast him as a replacement in the role of Henry in the hit Broadway musical NEXT TO NORMAL.
