Golden Thread Productions, the first American theatre company to focus on the Middle East, continues its 20th Anniversary Season with the West Coast premiere of Yussef El Guindi's humorous and hard-hitting Our Enemies: Lively Scenes of Love and Combat, directed by Founding Artistic Director Torange Yeghiazarian. In this juicy denunciation of the mainstream media machine, struggling writer Gamal hates the way his fellow Arab-Americans represent their culture on American media. It's easy enough to take out his frustration on literature superstar Mohsen and local mosque leader, Sheikh Alfani. But when his own girlfriend and novelist Noor gets an offer from a major publisher backed with a national media campaign, how will Gamal manage his frustration? Our Enemies runs October 28-November 20, 2016 at the Thick House (1695 18th Street, San Francisco) and performs Thursdays-Saturdays at 8pm, and Sundays at 3pm. NJSO Welcomes Michael Cavanaugh for Classic Rock Program

Broadway star Michal Cavanaugh, of Movin' Out fame, joins the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra for a program of hits from Elton John and other classic rock legends, November 12-13 in Newark and New Brunswick. Cavanaugh performs Elton John hits like "Tiny Dancer," "Bennie and the Jets" and "Rocket Man," as well as classics like "Live and Let Die" and "Pinball Wizard," in a high-energy show led by frequent NJSO guest conductor and audience favorite Thomas Wilkins.

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Announces Full Schedule for Upcoming FUSE@PSO

PITTSBURGH – FUSE@PSO, the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra's genre-bending early evening concert series, returns for its second season with three concerts featuring the music of Tchaikovsky, Bartók, Björk and Drake, and a performance by guest artists Time for Three. The 2016-2017 season goes on sale June 1.

Michael Feinstein Renews Contract with Pasadena POPS Through 2019

Pasadena Symphony and POPS Board Chair Kay Kochenderfer Toomey and Chief Executive Officer Lora Unger are proud to announce a contract extension for Michael Feinstein through the 2019 season. His original contract as Principal Pops Conductor commenced in June 2013 for a one-year term and was immediately extended in July 2013 to run through the 2016 season after his critically acclaimed conducting debut with the Pasadena POPS.

Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Sets May Schedule

The Grammy Award-winning Atlanta Symphony Orchestra begins the month of May with a performance featuring Schumann's Piano Concerto played by Javier Perianes, and led by guest conductor Lothar Zagrosek on May 5 and 7. The performances will also include Mendelssohn's Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage Overture and Brahms' Symphony No. 1

Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra to Present STRAVINSKY'S FIREBIRD, 3/9

PITTSBURGH – FUSE@PSO, the popular, genre-bending early evening concert series presented by the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, returns Wednesday, March 9 to Heinz Hall with “Stravinsky's Firebird: Remix | Response.”  For this concert, series Creative Director Steve Hackman has crafted a modern dramatization and remix of Stravinsky's ballet The Firebird. Weaved into the Stravinsky are 12 original songs, inspired by the myth of the Firebird and the original 1911 score, that implement modern pop/DJ/electronica production techniques and tell the story in an entirely new and contemporary way.  It is at once a live remix, concept album and classical masterpiece. Joining the Pittsburgh Symphony are rapper Jecorey “1200” Arthur, singer Malia Cievtz, drummer Gabriel Globus-Hoenich and a 15-person female choir.
