BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that Michael Callan, who starred as Riff in the original Broadway cast of West Side Story, has died at age 86. 

Masterworks Broadway rings in 2014 with the release of three long requested albums previously unavailable on CD - Li'l Abner (January 14), Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf (February 18), Brigadoon / Kiss Me, Kate (March 18).

Conveniently scheduled to occur during the weeks of this year's New York Musical Theatre Festival, The Paley Center For Media is presenting a series of theatrically-related programs and presentations throughout July featuring some particularly rarely-seen entities.

Completing the programming for the 10th annual New York Musical Theatre Festival, NYMF announced several additional concerts, a series of educational workshops, and a "Musicals on Television" screening series in partnership with the Paley Center for Media. This year's Festival will begin July 8th and continue through July 28th. Single tickets are currently on sale.

The New York Chapter of The Recording Academy held a tribute to musicians Bon Jovi, Alicia Keys, Donnie McClurkin and the creators of West Side Story at Cipriani in New York City on Wednesday, September 26.
