British comedian Jason Manford is to play Signor Pirelli in Jonathan Kent's West-End production of SWEENY TODD. Actor Michael Ball, who stars as Todd in the show, revealed on the Jonathan Ross Show on Saturday evening that Jason Manford will be taking the role while Robert Burt, who is currently playing the part, is on leave.

BroadwayWorld recently reported that when the highly anticipated movie version of LES MIS opens in theaters later this year, original cast members Colm Wilkinson and Frances Ruffelle, who created the roles of Valjean and Eponine, will again be a part of it. BWW:UK understands that the row over royalties for the Les Miserables original cast recording has now been resolved - and the cast will be receiving their royalties in the future!
BWW:UK understands that the original cast of Les Miserables are currently locked in a dispute with First Night Records about the royalties of their cast recording. Peter Polycarpou (originally ensemble, later Grantaire and Thenardier; and then John in Miss Saigon) tweeted on Friday: 'First Night Records have said that they no longer want to pay us Les Mis royalties after 25 years.'
Michael Ball's latest album, 'Love Changes Everything:The Collection' is due for a january 16 release in the UK. Featuring some of his best hits, the album will be released by Spectrum Audio, and is currently available for pre-order on Amazon.com.
