Deadline.com reports today that Carey Mulligan will join Leonardo DiCaprio and Toby McGuire in Baz Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby remake in the role of Daisy Buchanan. DiCaprio and McGuire will play the roles of Jay Gatsby and Nick Carraway respectively. The roles were last made famous on screen by Robert Redford, Sam Waterston and Mia Farrow in Francis Ford Coppola's adaptation, directed by Jack Clayton. Luhrmann is co-writing this new adaptation alongside Craig Pearce. Luhrmann, of course, will also direct.

Broadway star Bernadette Peters will appear on Fox 5's 'Good Morning New York' on May 28, 2010 to promote her new children's book, 'Stella is a Star.' Peters will discuss the book and her efforts to raise money for her charity Broadway Barks.
According to her website, Bernadette Peters, who was most recently seen performing in New York in her sold out Broadway Barks benefit concert, will be playing at a variety of venues around the country for her upcoming tour, which kicks off next year. The two-time Tony winner will perform a wide variety of tunes from her vast theatre repertoire.
