Whatsonstage.com is reporting that the much hyped-about La Cage Aux Folles tour in the U.K. is now cancelled due to a lack of 'suitable stars.' The tour of the critically hailed Chocolate Menier Factory's production has been scheduled to begin in February of 2010.

The Donmar Warehouse presents Life is a Dream by Pedro Calderon de la Barca in a new version by Helen Edmundson through 28 November.

James Macdonald returns to the Almeida to direct the world premiere of Christopher Hampton's new version of Ödön von Horváth's Judgment Day. Judgment Day will run at the Almeida from 3 September - 17 October 2009, with press night on 10 September. Set designs are by Miriam Buether with costume design is by Moritz Junge, lighting by Neil Austin, sound by Chris Shutt and music by Matthew Herbert.

Matthew White is to direct the Tony Award-winning musical Sweet Charity at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Sweet Charity previews from November 21, with press night on December 2, and runs until March 7, 2010.

Reports from across the pond have confirmed that the massive rebuilding plans for the West End's Westminster Theatre will be delayed until 2011. The cause for the delay, according to The Stage is stalled legal negotiations with the theater's developer.

Producer Arielle Tepper Madover and the Donmar Warehouse are pleased to announce the complete Broadway cast for William Shakespeare's HAMLET, with Jude Law in the title role, directed by Michael Grandage. The production will begin performances at the Broadhurst Theatre (235 West 44th Street) on Saturday, September 12 for a strictly limited run of twelve weeks only. Rising star of musical theatre, Cassidy Janson is confirmed to join the cast of AVENUE Q this fall. She takes over the roles of Kate Monster and Lucy the Slut from Julie Atherton on October 5 as the show enters its new booking period. Cassidy gained attention when she covered and appeared in the role of Elphaba in the West End hit Wicked. Prior to that she played Susan in the UK premier of Jonathan Larson?s Tick Tick Boom at the Menier Chocolate Factory.
