Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) continues the 2009/10 Family Series with Short Shakespeare! The Comedy of Errors, a family-friendly 75-minute abridged production of Shakespeare's madcap comedy, directed and adapted by David H. Bell. CST's Short Shakespeare! program is designed for parents, grandparents, teachers or anyone with children in their lives to introduce young people to the timeless works of Shakespeare and the magic of live theater.

Chicago Shakespeare Theatre Presents Coward's PRIVATE LIVES in the Round, 1/6 - 3/7

The Chicago Shakespeare Theatre will present a new staging of Noel Coward's PRIVATE LIVES. The play, set in a hotel balcony, will presented in the round in the new staging, by acclaimed Chicago director Gary Griffin. Performances for the production will begin January 6th. The company has added new seating to its Courtyard Theatre in order to accommodate Griffin's idea, adding seats around the proscenium.

Short Shakespeare Opens With 'A MIDSUMMER NIGHTS DREAM' 1/24

?Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) continues its 2008-09 CST Family Series with Short Shakespeare! A Midsummer Night's Dream, a 75-minute abridged production of Shakespeare's classic comedy, adapted and directed by Amanda Dehnert. CST's Short Shakespeare! Series is designed for parents, grandparents, teachers?and all adults with children in their lives?to introduce young people to theater. Tickets are $16 for students (18 and younger), and $20 for adults. Immediately following each performance, the actors remain on stage for a brief question-and-answer session and then join the audience in the Lobby for one-on-one conversations and photo opportunities. The production will run for seven Saturdays at 11 a.m., January 24 through March 7, 2009 in Chicago Shakespeare's Courtyard Theater on Navy Pier. Chicago Shakespeare Theater (CST) presents the latest production as part of its landmark arts-in-education program, CPS Shakespeare!-a program designed to bring together students and teachers from each of Chicago Public Schools' (CPS) five designated geographic districts to perform a 60-minute adaptation of a play by William Shakespeare in CST's Elizabethan-style, Courtyard Theater on Navy Pier. This year, public performances of CPS Shakespeare! Macbeth adapted and directed by Kirsten Kelly are scheduled on Friday, October 24 at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m.
