Theatre Under The Stars' (TUTS) President and CEO John C. Breckenridge announces TUTS' 2009-2010 Season: The One That You Want! September 2009 to May 2010 at the Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. 'The quality and beauty of this lineup is something TUTS is very excited about,' said Breckenridge. 'This is the type of season that exemplifies the soul of TUTS. The incomparable energy of Grease, beauty of South Pacific, the over-the-top production quality of Miss Saigon, and the quintessential nostalgia of The Sound of Music are all at the heart of why theatre is so emotionally impactful.' In its 2009-2010 Season, TUTS combines powerful Broadway classics with innovative new creations and revivals.

The season opens in September with a musical that highlights and celebrates America's frontier, Little House on the Prairie. In November, Paper Mill produces the classic song and dance spectacular On the Town. The winter months bring Lost in Yonkers, a Neil Simon classic to brighten the stage and warm your heart. Spring is twisting and jiving with the 1950's rock ?n' roll extravaganza Smokey Joe's Caf?. The season closes with the internationally acclaimed classic Peter Pan.

LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE, a new musical based on the beloved Laura Ingalls Wilder series of classic American books, will launch a national tour in October at The Ordway Theatre in St. Paul, Minnesota, following a five-week engagement beginning September 10 at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, N.J. Melissa Gilbert, who rose to fame as a child playing ?Laura' in the hugely successful NBC television series 'Little House on the Prairie' during the 1970's, now continues her legacy ?on the prairie' by taking on the role of Ma. LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE will also star Steve Blanchard as Pa and Kara Lindsay as Laura.

The Guthrie Theater brings Shakespeare's romantic comedy The Two Gentlemen of Verona to the stage January 24 ? March 29, 2009 in a retro rendition directed by Joe Dowling, as the story is 'taped' on the set of a '50s television studio in front of a live audience. It's the same familiar story, an oldie but goodie, where four young lovers hit the road to romance and find their bonds of friendship tested along the way. The director's cut offers a no holds 'bard' pop culture explosion of comedy, song and dance, showcasing the triumphs of young love, an adorable sidekick dog named Crab, and everything in between.

Jeffrey Hatcher's hilarious adaptation of The Government Inspector closed late last month, concluding the Guthrie's official 2007-08 season. The 2008-09 season, kicked off by Little House on the Prairie, features an entire season of plays for the two main stages that are receiving their first-ever Guthrie productions.

All eyes right now are on the Guthrie's production of Little House on the Prairie as it now adds national tour to its list of future endeavors.

Variety is reporting that the Guthrie's production of Little House on the Prairie could be Broadway Bound. The production broke box office records as soon as tickets went on sale and has had to extend their performances two weeks to accommodate ticket demand.
