Friday nights are taking on a new tune as Sony Movie Channel (SMC) features music-themed blockbuster films each week in March.

On 22 February 2011 The Court Theatre, like so many companies and organisations located in The Red Zone, saw its foundations crumble; literally and figuratively. Ten days later after the loss of The Court's historic theatre venue, brochures arrived for The Forge season that would never be.

Beginning in April, 2013, 1812 Productions will present the world premiere comedy It's My Party: The Women and Comedy Project, created and directed by 1812 Productions' Artistic Director, Jennifer Childs, and featuring a diverse ensemble of Philadelphia actresses. A production which will use physical comedy, storytelling, and music in a one-of-a-kind theatrical event, the creative process for It's My Party: The Women and Comedy Project began in 2010 with two questions: how do women use comedy and how does that usage change as they age. With these pointed inquiries as her guides, Ms. Childs embarked on three inclusive and ongoing initiatives which, together, would form the core of the Project.

Littlejohn Contemporary Art and Garvey Simon Art Access present Bestiary. Bestiary will whimsically showcase an array of artists' interpretations of the world through literal and abstract animal imagery. The exhibition will be on view now through January 26, 2013. A reception will be held on Thursday, January 17th from 6 - 8pm.

When The Theater Project says that playwrights entering its upcoming competition must be young, it means it. Not many 13-18 year-olds have an opportunity to have a play they wrote performed in a reading by professional actors, but the three of them who win the project's Young Playwrights Competition will get that chance.
