On last night's The X Factor on FOX, the top 40 acts were revealed and the judges were assigned their categories. Also on the show, it was announced that the remaining contestants would face a new round of competition known as the 'Four Chair Challenge'. Check out a sneak peek below!

Emblem3 kick off their sold-out west coast tour dates this Wednesday, February 27 in Los Angeles at the Roxy. It was another rollercoaster of a show last night as the six remaining acts became the final four on THE X FACTOR. Unfortunately for CeCe Frey, the competition came to an end at the top of the show. Following that news, it was announced that Emblem3, Carly Rose Sonenclar and Tate Stevens were safe and therefore immediately advanced to next week's Semi-Finals.

When Melanie returns to THE X FACTOR stage tonight, Dec. 6 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX, to premiere her new single, 'Long Distance,' she'll be doing it as a champion. THE X FACTOR is extending online auditions to Friday, April 27th. Solo artists and vocal groups have an additional two weeks to submit their online auditions. To audition online, auditioners should upload a thirty-second introduction and a one-and-a-half minute a cappella video performance to www.TheXFactorUSA.com.
