Pace Presents to Stage NY Premiere of SANNIDHI (SACRED SPACE), 10/5

Pace Presents is proud to announce the New York premiere of acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer Aparna Ramaswamy's Sannidhi (Sacred Space) on Saturday, October 5 at 7:30pm at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University.

Matthew Polenzani & Corinne Winters to Open George London Foundation for Singers' 2013-14 Season, 10/20

Tenor Matthew Polenzani, who has been praised as "perhaps the finest tenor voice of his generation" (Boston Phoenix), and fast-rising young star soprano Corinne Winters will launch the 2013-14 season of events of The George London Foundation for Singers with a recital at The Morgan Library and Museum on Sunday, October 20, 2013, at 4:30 PM. The George London Foundation Recital Series presents pairs of outstanding opera singers, many of whom were winners of a George London prize early in their careers or are recent George London Award recipients. Mr. Polenzani is a 1998 George London Award winner, and Ms. Winters won a George London Award in 2012 (watch Corinne Winters's George London Award-winning performance of Meyerbeer's "Robert, toi que j'aime"here).

HOLIDAY POPS! to Return to Verizon Hall, 12/6-21

Philadelphia's treasured musical tradition Holiday POPS! returns to Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center for nine festive performances, December 6 through December 21, 2013 led by Britain's celebrated American-born conductor David Charles Abell, who is known for conducting the two "Les Miserables" anniversary celebrations, televised throughout the world. As The POPS' exceptional musicians present the beloved seasonal tunes in exciting arrangements, each concert also features three spectacular choirs and the ever-popular audience sing-along, in a rousing program guaranteed to please young and old. For 2013, The Philly POPS is pleased to welcome acclaimed dramatic soprano Angela Brown making her POPS debut during this annual family favorite.

Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia Opens 2013-14 Season with Mendelssohn, Beethoven This Weekend

The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia opens their 2013 - 2014 concert season with beloved works by Mendelssohn and Beethoven. Warner Classics' (formerly EMI Classics) pianist HJ Lim joins Music Director Dirk Brosse and The Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia for Mendelssohn | Beethoven today, September 15 and Monday, September 16. These concerts are in collaboration with Warner Classics and Yamaha.

Michael Krajewski to Open Philly POPS' VIVA PHILADELPHIA! Season with Guest Eddie Bruce, 10/11-13

It's a new era for The Philly POPS and a chance for audiences to share in the excitement of this first season under the baton of new music director Michael Krajewski. The Philly POPS opens its 2013-14 season with the theme 'Viva Philadelphia!' - a celebration of the City and of Philadelphia's Italian spirit as well as a demonstration of the maestro's special love for vocal music. It's a fitting theme, as the new maestro celebrates the City that will be another POPS home for this nationally recognized conductor. It's also fitting as this first series of The POPS 35th season falls on Columbus weekend, a time of special significance in a city with a rich Italian heritage. With performances on Friday, October 11 through Sunday October 13, POPS concerts will continue to be presented in a series of Friday evenings at 8 p.m., followed by Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. at Verizon Hall of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts on Avenue of the Arts in Philadelphia.

75 - year old singer Tonia Tecce has made her long-delayed New York City cabaret debut last night at The Metropolitan Room. Previously, Tecce has appeared at Carnegie Hall, Philadelphia's Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts Academy of Music, and sung with Peter Nero and many orchestras . Her show, A Cockeyed Optimist, Why We Believe, The Songs of Richard Rodgers, was written and directed by Michael Bush.

The United Tenors join forces with special guest Pastor Alyn E. Waller of ENON Tabernacle Baptist Church for one exclusive Philadelphia performance blending R&B and Gospel sounds in the Kimmel Center's Verizon Hall on Sunday, September 29 at 7:30 p.m.

Adelaide's own Demi Lardner is set to perform her first shows back in her home town after winning the world's most prestigious stand up comedy competition, So You Think You're Funny, at the Edinburgh Fringe in August.

Nicholas Phan Launches Trinity Wall Street's CELEBRATING BRITTEN FESTIVAL and More in 2013-14

Tenor Nicholas Phan will kick off his 2013-14 season as one of the prime voices heard in celebrations of the composer's centenary as they culminate this fall. Today, September 5, Phan helps launch Trinity Wall Street's four-month Celebrating Britten Festival with the orchestral song cycle Nocturne. The tenor also curates the 2013 Collaborative Works Festival as the Artistic Director of Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago, performing Britten's Canticle II: Abraham and Isaac and The Heart of the Matter, plus folk-song arrangements by Beethoven (Sept 11-15). Phan and pianist Myra Huang then embark on a U.S. recital tour - starting at Trinity Wall Street on September 21 - with a program juxtaposing Britten and Schubert.
