Culture Project, New York's home for socially conscious theater, announces 'Prologue to Progress,' a two week series of music, performance, and discussion led by over a dozen international artists and thinkers from Sunday, October 1 through Sunday, October 15. One of the events will be Rob Urbinati's REBEL VOICES: Stories, Speeches, and Songs of Resistance.

Academy Award and Tony Award nominee and Golden Globe Award-winning actress and director Kathleen Turner will headline The International Human Rights Art Festival on Sunday, October 15 at 7:30pm at The Grand Hall at Saint Mary Church (440 Grand Street).

The International Human Rights Art Festival joins with activist theatre Culture Project to inaugurate its new space in New York's Lower East Side, with an evening of dance, music, comedy, storytelling, and theatre. The evening is headlined by award-winning actress and advocate Kathleen Turner, and will raise social concerns and offer positive solutions with humor, insight, and artistic talent.

Prologue to Progress kicks off on Sunday October 1 with I AM ANTIGONE, a contemporary retelling of Sophocles' Antigone, written by poet Saudamini Siegrist and directed by award-winning writer and director Myriam Cyr.

The Brick is overjoyed to continue its celebrated annual trans theater festival to celebrate the stories, art, histories, and experiences of trans artists.

Established in 1991, All Out Arts is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit devoted to bringing together the diverse artistic, organizational, political and financial resources of the LGBTQ community in order to fight intolerance. All Out Arts fulfills its mission by supporting arts organizations within the community through fiscal sponsorship, events, contests, collaborations, networking events for emerging artists, and by sponsoring productions, concerts and exhibitions of visual arts. We confront homophobia through the humanizing influence of the arts, and the Fresh Fruit Festival is the primary expression of the All Out Arts mission.
