In honor of National Constitution Day, Maya Ciarrocchi will hold an eight-hour reading of the United States Constitution, read in multiple languages by over 25 artists.

Abrons Arts Center's 2017-18 season, the first season to be curated by new Artistic Director Craig Peterson, celebrates the idea that a community is a place of intersecting ideas and action. Peterson believes that artists push society forward in ways that challenge our assumptions, politics and social welfare; that artists make room for voices that are too often silenced or sidelined. Gun violence, gentrification, immigration, income and power inequality, freedom, gender, and race are just some of the social issues artists are grappling with this season.

The critically acclaimed musical THE BAND'S VISIT will arrive on Broadway in Fall 2017 at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street). THE BAND'S VISIT will begin performances on Saturday, October 7, 2017, and officially open on Thursday, November 9, 2017. Tickets are now on sale.

For almost seven decades, Carmen de Lavallade has led an unparalleled career in dance, theater, film and television that began in her hometown of Los Angeles.  Now, Ms. de Lavallade returns to celebrate her 85th birthday onstage at the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts with As I Remember It, an intimate portrait of the legendary artist told through dance, film, music and her own personal writings. This one-night-only performance will take place on Friday, October 28 at 8pm.

Gender/Power Composition IV is an in-process collaborative project led by video artist Maya Ciarrocchi and performance artist Kris Grey in which performers and co-creators Keke Brown, Shawn Escarciga, Ray Ferreira, Massima Lei, Elena Rose Light, Marissa Pereland Pamela Sneed share personal feminist, trans and queer narratives within a framework that blurs authorship.

From September to December 2016, OBIE-winning performance venue JACK shares a rich season of performing artists - emerging and otherwise - including Emma Sulkowicz, video artist Maya Ciarrocchi, singer/performer Jadele McPherson,composer Dave Ruder, choreographer In Kyung Lee and New Orleans' Goat in the Road, as well as a first collaboration with Bronx Academy of Arts & Dance (BAAD!)on a Bronx/Brooklyn bill.

The critically acclaimed hit off-Broadway play The Effect, which extended earlier this year, is currently in its final weeks at the Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street) and will play its final performance on Sunday, September 4th, 2016 after 20 previews and 192 regular performances.
