Remy Bumppo Theatre Company will be partnering with Mikva Challenge for the first three preview performances of their upcoming production of Both Your Houses, by the great American playwright Maxwell Anderson.
Theo Ubique artistic director Fred Anzevino and musical director Jeremy Ramey, who teamed up for the company's Jeff-award Best Musical winner The Light in the Piazza as well as Aspects of Love and Master Class, are collaborating on this collection of songs by the German born classical composer-turned-Broadway-songsmith Kurt Weill. Ramey is providing exciting new arrangements as well as musical direction. Christie Kerr is also on the team as choreographer for the cabaret to be performed at the No Exit Cafe, 6970 N. Glenwood Ave., Chicago, from tonight, September 19 to October 19, 2014.

In Maxwell Anderson's 1933 political satire Both Your Houses, a straight-laced young congressman's outlandish plan is bound to save Congress from itself! Or is it?Remy Bumppo will present Anderson's Pulitzer Prize winner as the opening production of its 18th season. Press Opening is Monday, October 6 at 7:00 pm at the Greenhouse Theater Center. The production will run throughout the lead-up to the 2014 midterm elections, in which 435 seats in the House of Representatives and 33 seats in the Senate will be up for re-election.

Asolo Rep's 2014-2015 season Historic Asolo Theater production will be Pulitzer and Greenfield Prize winning playwright Nilo Cruz's lyrical new play, Sotto Voce. This exquisitely observed metaphysical romance will be co-directed by Asolo Rep's Producing Artistic Director Michael Donald Edwards and playwright Nilo Cruz, who crafted the Spanish translation for Hamlet, Prince of Cuba at Asolo Rep in 2012. Sotto Voce, which had its world premiere at the Theater for the New City in February 2014, opens Thursday, April 2, 2015 in the Historic Asolo Theater and runs through Sunday, April 26, with previews on Tuesday, March 31 andWednesday, April 1. The title of this celebrated new work is an Italian musical term that means to speak in a soft manner with purpose.
