Tony and Emmy Nominee Jerome Kass Has Died

BroadwayWorld has learned the sad news that playwright Jerome Kass has died. A Tony nominee for penning the book of the 1978 musical BALLROOM, Kass passed away in his Manhatta home on Thursday, Oct. 22 from prostate cancer. He was 78.

The Zephyr Theater presents the world premiere of Finding Nick, a new play written and performed by Nicholas Guest, and directed by Lee Sankowich, in a six-week engagement beginning February 19, through March 27, on Thursday and Friday nights at 8 p.m. in Hollywood, produced by Racquel Lehrman and Victoria Watson of Theatre Planners.

Tony & Emmy Winner Eli Wallach Dies at Age 98

Film, television and stage actor Eli Wallach, whose career spanned more than six decades, beginning in the late 1940s, died on Tuesday, June 24th at the age 98. His death was confirmed by his daughter Katherine.

Broadway and TV Star Jean Stapleton Passes Away

Iconic television and Broadway actress Jean Stapleton passed away peacefully of natural causes on May 31st, 2013 at her home in New York City. She was surrounded by friends and her immediate family.

Bye Bye Birdie opens a new chapter in the label's celebrated campaign to preserve the music of Broadway by entering the arena of film musical soundtracks. This new reissue of Bye Bye Birdie will include three bonus tracks and will be available on CD and via digital download January 8, 2013.
