Opening Night is set for Wednesday June 14th (7pm). The performance runs 90 minutes with no intermission.
Kentwood Players will hold open auditions for THE GINGERBREAD LADY, a dramedy by Neil Simon, on Saturday, May 13, 2017 from 12:00noon to 4:00pm and Sunday, May 14 from 7:00 to 10:00pm. Callbacks will be held on Monday, May 15 from 7:00 to 10:00pm by appointment only. In response to popular demand, The Pearl Theatre Company extends Shelagh Delaney's A Taste of Honey to October 30. Directed by Austin Pendleton, this production marks the play's first New York revival in 35 years.
Mint Theater Company has announced that the acclaimed revival of A Day by the Sea by N.C. Hunter, will now continue through October 23rd at their new home at the Beckett Theater as a resident company at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street between 9th and Dyer Avenues).

The Village Players opens its 94th season with the Neil Simon comedy Plaza Suite. This hit opened on Broadway at the Plymouth Theatre on February 14, 1968 and closed on October 3, 1970 after 1097 performances. Directed by Mike Nichols, the cast featured George C. Scott and Maureen Stapleton who appeared in each of the three acts. The production runs weekends September 9th through the 18th at the playhouse of the Village Players in Birmingham.

He became the famous writer's confidant, took copious notes of their conversations, and - encouraged by Williams (who died the year after they met) - went on to interview many of the great actresses who had worked with the master dramatist about their impressions of him and the impact of his work. Grissom then compiled their insights about one of the most gifted and complex American playwrights into his wonderful book, FOLLIES OF GOD - Tennessee Williams and the Women of the Fog, now published by Alfred A. Knopf.

THOM THOMAS, script writer for stage, TV and film, succumbed to acute leukemia in Los Angeles on December 2, 2015. Recently Thomas co-wrote with Iris Rainer Dart the book for Beaches, The Musical, adapted from Dart's popular novel. Beaches had a tryout in Chicago at the Drury Lane Theatre this past summer, and a Broadway transfer is pending availability of a theater. Currently Astrablu Media, Inc. holds the rights to Thomas's completed screenplay adaptation of the novel, Vanished, with production planned for spring of 2016.

Ingmar Bergman's NORA -- an adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic drama A DOLL'S HOUSE -- will be given its English-language New York debut Off-Broadway this fall when Austin Pendleton directs the production at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.), with previews set to begin November 14 prior to an official press opening November 22. The five-week production runs through December 12. NORA is produced by Cherry Lane Theatre in association with La Femme Theatre Productions.
