RIALTO CHATTER: Broadway Next for DEATHTRAP?

Michael Riedel reports in today's New York Post that the West End production of DEATHTRAP which stars Simon Russell Beale and Jonathan Groff has its eyes on Broadway if it receives positive reviews in London. The show is said to have an advance of more than $1 million dollars.

Estelle Parsons, who won an Oscar for playing ‘Blanche' in the legendary 1967 film 'Bonnie and Clyde', will make her West End stage debut starring as ‘Helga ten Dorp' in Ira Levin's thriller 'DEATHTRAP', which will open at the Noël Coward Theatre in London on Tuesday 7 September.

The first major revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley will play Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) beginning September 23, 2010. This new production, helmed by acclaimed Tony Award-winning director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing, The Norman Conquests), will officially open October 14, 2010. This immediately follows a critically-acclaimed limited summer engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from June 26-September 4, 2010.

GOD OF CARNAGE Set for George Street Playhouse's 2010-11 Season

The George Street Theatre will present Yasmina Reza's God of Carnage as a pat of its 2010-11 season. Performances will begin May 10 and run through June 6. SPIDER-MAN Announces Complete Cast!

Lead producer Michael Cohl today announced the complete cast for SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, which begins rehearsals this morning. Directed by Julie Taymor and featuring a book by Julie Taymor and Glen Berger, and new music and lyrics by Bono and The Edge, SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark will begin previews at Broadway's Foxwoods Theatre (213 West 42nd Street) on November 14, with opening night set for December 21.

La Bete Plays Final Performance at the Comedy Prior to Broadway Transfer, 9/4

Matthew Warchus' production of David Hirson's La Bête, starring Mark Rylance, David Hyde Pierce and Joanna Lumley, will complete its run as scheduled at the Comedy Theatre on 4 September, transferring immediately to the Music Box Theatre on Broadway with previews from 23 September and opening on 14 October.
