Producers Scott Morfee, Jean Doumanian and Tom Wirtshafter announced today that Academy Award-winning actress Helen Hunt will join the cast of David Cromer's acclaimed production of Thornton Wilder's Our Town, for four weeks only (Tuesday, July 6th to Sunday, August 1st), at the Barrow Street Theatre, succeeding Michael McKean, who will give his final performance on Sunday evening, July 4. Ms. Hunt becomes the sixth actor to assume the iconic role in this record-breaking production.

Baz Bamigboye reports in the U.K. Daily Mail today that a stage musical adapation of the movie Ghost may hit Manchester sometime next spring in anticipation of a West End transfer in the summer of 2011, likely at the Piccadilly Theatre. Bamigboye writes that high on the list of Manchester venues for the out of town tryout is the Opera House of Manchester, where the show would would play for an extended 10 week-or-so run. So far, producers are reportedly only in discussion-phase. Laura Michelle Kelly is rumored to be in talks to play the female lead made famous by Demi Moore in the film version.

Actor Tyler Murree seems to have a knack for landing roles in costume-heavy shows. The first major revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley will play Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street) beginning September 23, 2010. This new production, helmed by acclaimed director Matthew Warchus (God of Carnage, Boeing-Boeing, The Norman Conquests), will officially open October 14, 2010. This immediately follows a limited summer engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End from June 26-September 4, 2010 with opening night set for July 7.
