On October 24, 2014, The New York Pops - a symphonic orchestra known for presenting popular programs of exceptional quality - will launch its 32nd season, a series at Carnegie Hall celebrating the diversity of some of popular music's greatest icons. Music Director Steven Reineke - described by The New York Times as a "polished, welcoming host" who is "young and vigorous, with a playful attitude" - will lead the orchestra in a highly anticipated concert season, including an opening celebration of The Beatles featuring the Finnish ensemble Rajaton; a festive holiday concert featuring Kelli O'Hara and Matthew Morrison; a solo evening with Broadway leading lady Sutton Foster; and a tribute to Frank Sinatra by four of today's finest entertainers - Tony DeSare, Storm Large, Frankie Moreno and Ryan Silverman.

Television celebrity and Broadway sensation Matthew Morrison joins Pacific Symphony Pops for a Valentine's Day spectacular of romantic show tunes and jazz standards. Best known for his popular role as Will Schuester, the optimistic and charming teacher on “Glee,” Morrison also brings An impressive Broadway resume to the stage. The Emmy-, Tony- and Golden Globe-nominated star has performed in smash hits including the original cast of “Hairspray,” “Footloose” and “The Light in the Piazza.” Morrison has released three albums, the most recent of which, “Where It All Began,” was praised by The Washington Post for “Morrison's handsome tenor backed by jazz combos, jazz big bands and orchestral strings.” An Orange County native, Morrison returns to his old stomping grounds to serenade the audience with his dazzling stage presence and a voice as smooth as chocolate.
The award winning CAP21 Theatre Company will kick off its 2014 season on February 4th with the new musical by Jonathan Larson Award winning writers Dan Collins (book) and Julianne Wick Davis (music and lyrics). The story was conceived in collaboration by Julianne Wick Davis, Sally Wilfert & Michael Winther. The production will be directed by Eric Hoff with musical direction by Charity Wicks and will star Broadway veterans Sally Wilfert (Broadway: Disney's King David, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, Assassins; Off-Broadway: See Rock City and Make Me a Song), and Michael Winther (Broadway: 33 Variations, Mamma Mia!, 1776, Damn Yankees; Drama Desk nomination: Songs From An Unmade Bed).
