Due to popular demand, The Flea Theater will bring back THESE SEVEN SICKNESSES this summer. This theatrical adaptation of Sophocles' seven surviving plays (Oedipus, In Trachis, Philoktetes, In Colonus, Ajax, Elektra and Antigone) will return for a limited engagement June 6 through July 1.

In the Flea Theater and the Civilians' YOU BETTER SIT DOWN: TALES FROM MY PARENTS' DIVORCE, four actors sit side by side in varying styles of chairs and play their parents, answering questions from actual interviews in one large confessional theater space. We go on a relationship journey of how each couple met and fell in love, got married, began having problems, broke up, and finally cope with life after divorce. Although the material is deep and thought-provoking, it also offers a simplicity that is relatable to anyone who has or is going through a divorce. We learn that "you pay a consequence when you want to get out."

Playwright Annie Baker and director Sam Gold-whose previous collaborations include the acclaimed The Aliens and Circle Mirror Transformation-have reunited to stage a new adaptation of Chekhov's masterpiece, Uncle Vanya. Two-time Tony Award-nominated Alison Fraser has joined the cast of David Ives' new comedy, THE SCHOOL FOR LIES, from the Molière classic The Misanthrope, directed by Tony Award winner Walter Bobbie, beginning performances Wednesday, April 13 at Classic Stage Company (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through Sunday, May 22. Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today the Nikos Stage line-up for the 2011 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF), the company's 57th season and the first under Ms. Gersten's leadership. The Nikos Stage season kicks-off on June 22, 2011 and runs through August 21, 2011 and will include revivals of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire and Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, along with three new works: Lewis Black's One Slight Hitch, the East Coast Premiere of Bess Wohl's Touch(ed), and The Civilians' production of You Better Sit Down: tales from my parents' divorce. Directors taking part in the 2011 Nikos Stage season include David Cromer, Trip Cullman, Sam Gold, Joe Grifasi and Anne Kauffman. Actors Jessica Hecht, Paige Howard, Hamish Linklater, Lily Rabe, Sam Rockwell, Lili Taylor and many more will be featured this season on the Nikos Stage.

AracaWorks has announced preliminary casting for its five-day, five-play series celebrating new plays which will be presented December 6-10 at 7pm at The Black Box Theatre in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre. Each evening, the group will present a reading of a new play in its early stages of development, for free.
