Peter and the Starcatcher, the five-time Tony Award-winning play by Tony Award-nominee Rick Elice, will play its final Broadway performance today, January 20, 2013, ending its nearly year-long run. Directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher began performances on March 28, 2012, and opened April 15, 2012, and is playing at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre. Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the fourteenth annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, sponsored by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and with additional sponsorship by the New York Times, the event will take place on Saturday, July 14 in Shubert Alley, the heart of the Broadway Theater District (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m.

Now we can confirm that the recent Tony-winner will be departing the show on June 30th, and taking over the role will be Matt Saldivar, most recently seen on Broadway in A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE.
