Mad Cat Theatre Company unleashes its 15th season with the politically charged romantic comedy The Star-Spangled Girl by Neil Simon. An unlikely fit at first glance, this 1966 piece depicts a country polarized after the hangover of the hippie generation's summer of love. Now, re-examined by Mad Cat, the play will be deconstructed to take place in 2066, with temperatures rising and political tensions mounting; the action underscored by narration and live music.

'Gerald Ford Superfreak' explores the ripples of history, more specifically, how the effects of Gerald Ford's presidency carried over to our country's leadership in the year 2112 - as told by a surprise narrator from the future.

After receiving critical acclaim and overwhelming demand by South Florida audiences, James Goldman's classic comic-drama, The Lion in Winter will extend performances thru January 12th at Palm Beach Dramaworks (201 Clematis Street). In 2008, Mad Cat released its first MIXTAPE featuring a mix of new plays and films steeped in nostalgia. Now, six years later, Mad Cat is back with a new mix of plays and films, MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA!, a theatrical stew that is very much embedded in the present. MIXTAPE 2: UMMAGUMMA FORZA ZUMA! is about having the right mixture of mojo needed to make it through a metamorphosis. This collection of new works features pieces by Jessica Farr, Elena Maria Garcia, Theo Reyna, Deborah L. Sherman, Andres Solorzano, Paul Tei, and Kristina Wong as well as new films by Molly Gandour, George Schiavone and Matt Corey, Karelle Levy and Michael Landsberg, Wet Sock Ensemble (Erik Fabregat, Ralph de la Portilla and Ted Chambers), and Darin Gray of the band On Fillmore.
