Rehearsals began this week in Atlanta, GA, for the Alliance Theatre's production of ZORRO, a thrilling new musical. Zorro, 'the fox,' was created in 1919 by the writer Johnston McCulley for his serialized novel 'The Curse of Capistrano,' and went on to be immortalized in print, on film, in television and even video games. Due to the overwhelming box office success of Atlanta Lyric Theatre's December production of WHITE CHRITMAS, the musical theatre company has added a performance on Sunday, December 23 at 7PM. A group of 136 Stagedoor Manor students from all over the world will sing and dance the grand finale at this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade®, marking the famed theatrical summertime training ground's fourth consecutive Parade performance. After traveling the entire parade route, the Stagedoor Manor students will arrive at Herald Square and introduce Santa Claus by performing the number "Santa By The Book" from Macy's new program Yes, Virginia The Musical. Yes, Virginia The Musical had its world premiere at Stagedoor Manor earlier this year and its original cast, made up of 28 Stagedoor Manor students ages 10-13, will accompany Santa and Mrs. Claus on their float for the entirety of the Parade route.
This holiday season, audiences of all ages will enjoy the uplifting story of the Tony Award nominated hit musical IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS. Presented by Atlanta Lyric Theatre, IRVING BERLIN'S WHITE CHRISTMAS, the stage reinvention of the beloved classic film, will play the Earl Smith Strand Theatre (117 N. Park Sq., Marietta) Dec. 7 - 23.
