Deemed "suddenly indispensable" (New Yorker), this 'bracingly innovative' Festival, founded, directed, and curated by Kristin Marting (of HERE), Beth Morrison (of BMP), and Kim Whitener (of HERE), has quickly become 'a point of reference" in the field (The New York Times) over three astoundingly successful seasons.
Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College presents two residencies as part of the CUNY Dance Initiative. The first residency with Ephrat Asherie Dance runs from September 18 - October 2, 2014. The second residency with Chloe Arnold's Syncopated Ladies will run from October 27 - November 7, 2014. Each residency will offer a Master Class to John Jay College students and a free performance open to the public.
The New York Dance and Performance Awards (The Bessies), NYC's premier dance awards honoring outstanding creative work in the field, announced today the 40 nominees for the 2012-13 season. Announced at a press conference by members of The Bessies Selection Committee, the nominations (listed below) were made by an independent committee of 38 dance industry professionals. Produced in partnership with Dance/NYC, Bessie Award categories include Outstanding Production, Outstanding Performer, Outstanding Visual Design, Outstanding Composition or Sound Design and Outstanding Revived Work.

Ghostlight Records, a division of Sh-K-Boom Records, will release the world premiere recording of the Manhattan Theatre Club's new Broadway musical LoveMusik, which was nominated for four Tony Awards. The production starred Tony Award winners Michael Cerveris and Donna Murphy and featuring the songs of Kurt Weill. The recording, produced by Joel Moss with Kurt Deutsch serving as Executive Producer, will be available in stores and online on November 27.
