TADA! Youth Theater Announces Fundraising Event, 3/4

TADA! YOUTH THEATER, the Drama Desk and Coming Up Taller Award-winning organization, will host a live fundraising event and performance on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. The event will be at the Midtown Loft and Terrace (267 Fifth Avenue, 11th Floor, between 29th and 30th). Adam Rapp's RED LIGHT WINTER to Open at Kitchen Theatre Company, 2/22

Adam Rapp's Pulitzer Prize nominated Red Light Winter lays bare the passions of three young people caught in a love triangle so dangerous and obsessive that it pushes them to the brink. Red Light Winter previews at the Kitchen Theatre Company on February 22, 23, and 24 and opens on Saturday, February 25. It runs for three weeks, closing March 11, 2012.

Reanae McNeal to Perform in MLK Realizing the Dream, 3/2

On March 2nd at 7:30 p.m., Reanae McNeal will perform an original work, The Jazz Singing Women, as part of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Realizing the Dream Series. This unique piece will be a combination of lecture and performance, as McNeal shares her story of female African American jazz singers and performs selections of their music. Reanae will perform in the Alabama Power Recital Hall at Shelton State Community College's Martin Campus.

TADA! YOUTH THEATER's original production, The History Mystery, is running now at the TADA! Youth Theater (15 West 28th Str. 2nd Floor). With book by Janine Nina Trevens, music by Eric Rockwell and lyrics by Margaret Rose, The History Mystery is directed by Ms. Trevens. Starring members of TADA!'s Resident Youth Ensemble, this limited engagement runs now through February 19th.

The Mountaintop by Katori Hall, stars Samuel L. Jackson as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Angela Bassett, and is directed by Tony Award® nominee Kenny Leon (Stick Fly, Fences, A Raisin in the Sun). It began performances on September 22, 2011 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre and opened on Thursday, October 13, 2011 for a limited engagement through January 22, 2012. Upon closing The Mountaintop will have played 24 preview and 117 regular performances.
