Metropolitan Playhouse, the East Village company committed to exploring contemporary America through its theatrical past, presents the first New York revival of Power by Arthur Arent, a ?Living Newspaper? developed through the WPA?s Federal Theater Project. Playwriting Class of 2009. In MASTERPIECES, each playwright presents a staged reading of a full-length play in various locations around New York City.
The Nonsense Company performs Great Hymn of Thanksgiving / Conversation Storm, an award-winning pair of intricate and urgent pieces blurring the boundary between experimental theater and avant-garde music, both written by internationally-known composer and company member Rick Burkhardt. The Company performs from February 5-15, with previews on February 3 and 4, at the Interborough Repertory Theater (IRT), 154 Christopher St. 3B.
The New York Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway is pleased to announce that applications for the 2009 Honorary Awards are available online now and are due by 6pm on May 1, 2009. Now in their 5th year, the IT Awards have honored over 500 of the brightest and most influential artists from the Off-Off-Broadway community.

The title role of Cherry will be portrayed by MARIANNA McCLELLAN, with JAY ROHLOFF playing opposite her in the role of Fish. Mr. Rohloff, who serves as Clockwork's Artistic Director, was most recently seen in the company's revival of Caryl Churchill's A Number at Theatre Row in September, 2008, for which he received praise for portraying a man and two very unique clones of that man.
