2015 Writers Guild Awards Honor Norman Lear Tonight in New York City

The Writers Guild of America, East will honor Norman Lear with the Evelyn F. Burkey Award at the 67th annual Writers Guild Awards in New York City tonight, February 14, 2014. Bill Moyers will present Lear with the Burkey Award, which recognizes a person or organization whose contributions have brought honor and dignity to writers.

FST pays tribute to America's original entertainment in its third Cabaret show, Never Marry A Girl With Cold Feet: and other life lessons from Vaudeville. Developed by Richard Hopkins, Rebecca Hopkins, and Jim Prosser, it begins in the John C. Court Cabaret on Wednesday, February 18, 2015.

Andrea McArdle talks with BroadwayWorld about 4 GIRLS 4: A CHRISTMAS TOGETHER , a star vehicle with Maureen McGovern, Donna McKechnie, and Faith Prince driving into Boston next week for one night at The Wilbur Theatre. Wagner College Theatre's HELLO, DOLLY! Begins Today

Wagner College Theatre opens their 2014-15 Season with one of America's great musicals, Hello, Dolly! from October 1-12. Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the musical's Broadway premiere, the Wagner production is directed and choreographed by Broadway veteran Norb Joerder (WCT's Little Women) with musical direction by James Higgins (WCT's The Drowsy Chaperone).

TV Host and Comic Skip E. Lowe Dies at 85

Skip E. Lowe, the comic, raconteur and perennial TV host whose weekly public access cable program has been airing in Los Angeles, New York and other major markets for more than 35 years--the longest in television history--and is generally credited as the inspiration for the Martin Short character “Jiminy Glick,” died in his home at Kingsley Manor Apartments in Hollywood on Monday, Sept. 22. He was 85 and had been suffering from emphysema and other respiratory ailments, though he never smoked, but blamed years of working as a comic in smoke-infested nightclubs. Lowe had conducted more than 6,000 interviews, often two a week, with guests that included Orson Welles and Bette Davis.
