Single tickets for 30 of Omaha Performing Arts' 2013/2014 performances will go on sale today, August 9, 2013. The performances, scheduled for October 2013 through and May 2014, include: The swingin' big band group Big Bad Voodoo Daddy; the hilarious Broadway musical ELF; the inspirational African Gospel group Soweto Gospel Choir; and violin virtuoso Itzhak Perlman. The on-sale date for single tickets to WICKED will be announced at a later date.

Winifred Haun & Dancers teams up with the Leopold Group to curate a series of events, Vision, Faith, & Desire: Dancemakers Inspired by Martha Graham, inspired by the legacy of modern dance choreographer Martha Graham, culminating in performances on Friday, September 27 at 7:30pm and Saturday, September 28 at 7:30pm at the Ruth Page Center for the Arts, 1016 N. Dearborn. The Saturday night performance will be preceded by a Graham technique master class at 5:00pm, taught by former Graham Company dancer Lisa Thurrell. Tickets are available online through Brown Paper Tickets, $30 general admission or $25 for the master class which includes a free ticket to the show. In addition to new works by Chicago natives Haun, Leopold and Kato, the performances will feature a screen dance by former Graham Company soloist Peter Sparling, a remounted work by former Graham dancer Lisa Thurrell of Kanopy Dance Company, and using the creative structure by The Martha Graham Center of Contemporary Dance, a new "Lamentation Variation.'

RIOULT Dance NY, a leading American modern dance company, announces its new Executive Director, Lonnie EJ Cooper. Mr. Cooper spent the last three years producing and managing tours for the USO including Trace Adkins, Avenged Sevenfold and Operation Thriller in Kyrgystan, Qatar, Kuwait, Afghanistan, and Iraq, as well as an international tour of the USO/Sesame Street Experience for Military Families.

Paul Szilard died peacefully at home on Friday, 26 July 2013, at the age of 100. He was born in Budapest, Hungary (August 24, 1912) and became a United States citizen in the 1950's. A former leading dancer, Paul Szilard has performed throughout the world with such famous dancers as Nora Kaye, Colette Marchand, Sonia Arova and others.

New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) has awarded $925,000 in National Dance Project (NDP) grants to support the development of new dance works that will tour the U.S. during the 2014-2015 season.

Juilliard Dance, under the direction of Lawrence Rhodes, opens its 2013-2014 season with New Dances PLUS: Edition 2013, Wednesday, December 11 through Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater and features Juilliard alumna Pina Bausch's Wind von West (Wind from the West) performed by the Senior Class, plus three world premiere commissions created for each of the classes of Juilliard's Dance Division. Juilliard's Drama Division announces the 2013-2014 season of fully-staged productions featuring Juilliard's 43rd group of acting students in their fourth and final year in the drama program at Juilliard. This season's plays include Jeffrey Hatcher's Smash, directed by Victor Pappas; Amy Herzog's The Great God Pan, directed by Maria Mileaf; and Sam Shepard's Buried Child, directed by Daniel Fish. All performances take place in the Stephanie P. McClelland Drama Theater at Juilliard.
