Capital Stage continues its ninth season, THEHOMEFRONT, Capital Stage's 2013-14 Season of Soul-Stirring plays with an original adaptation of William Shakespeare's dark tragedy, MACBETH.Shakespeare, the father of English literature wrote MACBETH between 1603 and 1607. Since then, the Macbeths have remained one of the most fascinating couples in all of drama. Capital Stage's production will be adapted and directed by artistic director,Stephanie Gularte and will feature Scott Coopwood and Janis Stevens as the murderous couple. MACBETH runs from October 23 through November 24 with a press opening on October 26.

Recording artist and songwriter Lucy Morningstar is pleased to announce a special performance celebrating the release of her full length recording Strands of Light at The Bowery Electric in New York City on October 20th at 6:30 pm. This performance will also feature master percussionist Jimmy Lopez. Lucy Morningstar's music has touched the hearts and souls of audiences on both coasts with her poetic lyrics, melodic guitar style and soulful vocals. Strands of Light was mixed by Dave Aron (Prince/Sublime/Snoop Dogg/Tupac) at Hollywood Way Studios in Burbank. The album features saxophonist Scott Page (Pink Floyd), trumpet player Willie Waldman (Banyan/Snoop Dogg/Umphrey's McGee) and a duet with Lucy's sister, actress and songwriter Molly Moore.
Synetic Theater kicks off its 2013-2014 season with a new adaptation of Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray, directed by Synetic Founder and Artistic Director Paata Tsikurishvili. Synetic's reinvention of this classic tale features dynamic movement and multimedia, and promises to be a unique fusion of visual and verbal poetry that will explore the internal and external dimensions of Wilde's only novel, which many consider his most personal work-a timelessly supernatural story of man's endless conflict with the nature of mortality.

Woodland Opera House provides a fantastic cast performing in its lovely, historic space and directed by Amy Shuman, with a formidable orchestra led by James C. Glica-Hernandez. Flawless, but minimal lighting design by Jeff Kean lends considerably to the atmosphere, and efficient sets designed by John Bowles make great use of the building's fly space, especially during Javert's second act "Soliloquy" followed by a striking finale.

Author Dean MacNeil knows from experience that Bob Marley's music carries a life-affirming, transformative message. 'His music helped me and my family endure the loss of my sixteen-year old brother Scott, who was killed in a car crash,' said MacNeil. Gulfshore Playhouse is proud to announce the success of its First Annual New Works Festival. Kicking off Gulfshore Playhouse's 2013-2014 season, the New Works Festival brought together a team of professional actors and directors to work on the three plays chosen following an open submission process that yielded over 80 entries. Over four days of rehearsals, the playwrights were given the opportunity to edit their plays before the week culminated in a staged reading for each play. The Second Annual New Works Festival is now set to take place in August 2014.
