People's Light presents Lynn Nottage's Sweat, winner of the 2017 Pulitzer Prize for Drama and nominee for the 2017 Tony Award for Best Play. Currently the second-most produced play in the country, Sweat is an extensively researched portrait of early 2000s Reading, PA and an incisive examination of deindustrialized America.

On Sunday night's broadcast of the 76th Golden Globe Awards, five-time Golden Globe winner and the most decorated of all time in the television category, Carol Burnett received the new Golden Globe top honor for achievement in television, the Carol Burnett Award.

The 2018-2019 Renee Fleming VOICES series continues with singer-songwriter Nellie McKay on Friday, February 8, 2019, at 7:30 p.m. in the Terrace Theater. McKay's one-night-only solo set will include songs from her recent Sister Orchid, as well as others in her catalog. Tickets for this performance are $25-$35.

The nonprofit AT&T Performing Arts Center announced today that dues to popular demand, a second show for Carol Burnett - An Evening of Laughter and Reflection has been added and will go on sale Friday, December 21 at 10 a.m. Carol Burnett, award-winning actress and best-selling author, is widely recognized by the public and her peers for her work on stage and screen and most notably The Carol Burnett Show. The audience at the one-night- only experience at the Winspear Opera House will enjoy an evening of laughter and reflection with Carol Burnett - a conversation where the audience asks the questions.

The McCallum Theatre welcomes the return of Lily Tomlin and "An Evening of Classic Lily Tomlin" on Saturday, January 12, at 8:00pm. Lily Tomlin has been delighting audiences since the first time she muttered "one ringy-dingy" on Rowan & Martin's "Laugh-In." In this hilarious one-woman show, Lily performs more than a dozen of her timeless characters, from Ernestine to Mrs. Beasley to Edith Ann. The Grammy, Tony, and Emmy winner uses a fantastic range of voices, gestures, and movements to conjure up a cast of characters "with all the apparent ease of a magician pulling a whole menagerie of animals from a single hat" (New York Daily News). Commonwealth Shakespeare Company and Founding Artistic Director Steven Maler announced the cast of the second production of its 2018-19 Season: Birdy, adapted by Naomi Wallace from the novel by William Wharton, and directed by Steven Maler. The production runs February 27 through March 10 at the Carling-Sorenson Theater at Babson College in Wellesley.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) announced today that legendary TV icon Carol Burnett will receive the first-ever Golden Globe television special achievement award, aptly named the Carol Burnett Award, honoring the highest level of achievement in the medium. A five-time Golden Globe winner and the most decorated of all time in the television category, Burnett will accept the honor at the awards ceremony that will air live coast to coast on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. PT/8-11 p.m. ET on NBC from The Beverly Hilton.
