KPFK Radio's Arts in Review, Los Angeles's longest-running radio showcase on live theater and cabaret, presents its annual Holiday Drama Marathon, featuring the AIR Repertory Players under the direction of Irene Arranga, highlighted by the premiere of the Chanukah special, Dreidels and Donuts by Lynne Kadish and The Christmas Eve Truce, performed 100 years after the original World War I battlefield truce.

Sean Mathias Joins Creative Team of THE EXORCIST; Play Heading for Broadway?

BroadwayWorld has just learned that a stage version of The Exorcist is currently in the works, and Tony nominee Sean Mathias is on board to direct the project. The play, adapted by John Pielmeier, enjoyed a run at Los Angeles' Geffen Playhouse in 2012, starring Richard Chamberlain and Brooke Shields. Production details have not yet been announced.
IS HE DEAD? Comes to Life at Hale Centre Theatre on New Year's Eve

?Hale Centre Theatre (HCT) is ringing in the New Year with the long-lost production of Is He Dead? written by American author Mark Twain. The play was "rediscovered" in a drawer of Twain's forgotten works at the University of California at Berkeley in 2001. It has since appeared on Broadway and will hit HCT's stage Wednesday, December 31, 2014, through Saturday, February 7, 2015.

On Sunday, December 7, The Pearl Theatre Company will present a one night only benefit performance of holiday readings, radio plays, and music hosted by WNYC's Leonard Lopate at the theatre company's home on 42nd Street. The special event will include selections of stories from Charles Dickens, Mark Twain, O. Henry, and many more performed by Members of The Pearl's Resident Acting Company including Dominic Cuskern, Jolly Abraham, Dan Daily (currently starring in Major Barbara), Chris Mixon, Carol Schultz and Brad Heberlee. Performing alongside Mr. Lopate and the Company will be the musical duo of Gelber & Manning, providing early jazz standards from Old New York.

Pontine's Artistic Directors, Marguerite Mathews and Greg Gathers, perform a selection of Christmas stories and poems by New England authors, including Mary Wilkins Freeman, William Dean Howells, Sarah Orne Jewett, Ogden Nash and more. Franklin Performing Arts Company (FPAC) presents The Diaries of Adam and Eve, a compelling exploration of the relationship between men and women as told through the lens of the world's first love story. The light-hearted dramatic comedy play by David Birney is an adaptation of the book by America's great humorist, Mark Twain. FPAC's production is directed by Nick Paone and stars Franklin's Charley and Mireille Eastman in the title roles.

Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation presents its second season at the Arcadia Performing Arts Center -- Three Dog Night on Saturday, January 10 at 8 pm; The Four Tops on Saturday, February 21 at 8 pm; Big Bad Voodoo Daddy on Friday, March 27 at 8 pm; The Muppet Movie Sing-a-Long on Saturday, May 16 at 2 pm and Dick Fox Doo Wop Extravaganza on Saturday, June 6 at 7 pm. This four concert season, and the additional attraction The Muppet Movie Sing-A-Long, is presented by the Arcadia Performing Arts Foundation and is a means of raising funds to support arts in the schools and maintain this new, state-of-the-art facility.
