Local theatre artist Mark Kennedy, hot on the heels of world premiere solo piece Checkers produced in the 2011 Philadelphia Fringe Festival, directs the Philadelphia premiere of Ariel Dorfman's unrelentingly poetic drama Purgatorio under the brand new wings of theatre anti-company [ad hoc theatre project]. Baz Bamingoye reports in today's UK Daily Mail that Tyne Daly, who led the Manhattan Theatre Club's Broadway production of Terrence McNally's Tony Award-winning MASTER CLASS, directed by Stephen Wadsworth which closed on September 4 at MTC's Samuel J. Friedman Theatre (261 West 47th Street) will bring her portrayal to London's West End in 2012.

When Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir focusing on an explosive chapter in the family's history, the holiday reunion is thrown into turmoil and the Wyeths are both bound together and torn apart as they struggle to come to terms with their past. SISTER ACT Announces School Challenge Initiative

The SISTER ACT School Challenge Initiative is offering the chance for one lucky class from grades 5 through 9 to win a class field trip to SISTER ACT on Broadway. Teachers are invited to share their class' acts of kindness by submitting a photo of their class giving back to their community, along with the story behind it, for the chance to win a class field trip to SISTER ACT. SISTER ACT to Partner with Bloomingdales for FASHIONABLE FUNDRAISER, 8/25

Cast members from the Broadway hit SISTER ACT will perform musical numbers from the show at Bloomingdale's 59th street (1000 3rd Ave.) on Thursday, August 25 at 4:30pm as part of the store's 'Fashionable Fundraiser' benefiting The Foundation for AIDS Research (amFAR). In addition, Bloomingdale's will host makeovers in the Cosmetics Oval from 3:00-6:00pm. Costumes from SISTER ACT will also be on display exclusively for this event. At both the Bloomingdale's 59th street and Soho location (504 Broadway) shoppers who purchase over $400 in cosmetics and fragrances will receive a pair of tickets to SISTER ACT (while supplies last).
